🇺🇸 ATTENTION FAMILIES: Kids’ 4th of July Bike Decorating Competition! 🚲
The VFW Post 2335 Auxiliary is hosting a Kids' Bike Decorating Competition this Independence Day, and we want to see our local youth show off their red, white, and blue spirit! Every single participant is invited to ride their decorated wheels right in the 4th of July Parade!
🗓 When: Saturday, July 4th
📍 Where: Mecosta Elementary
🕢 Schedule of Events:
8:00 AM – 10:00 AM: Registration & Decorating
10:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Judging
10:30 AM: Parade Lineup (Parade & Car Show judging to follow!)
🎖 Competition Details:
4 Age Groups: 4–6, 7–9, 10–12, and 13–16.
4 Winners will be crowned!
🏆 GRAND PRIZE: The grand prize winner gets the ultimate honor—they will get to judge the vehicles and personally choose the winner of the Kids’ Choice Award for the Car Show!
🎨 Decoration Rules:
🔴⚪🔵 ONLY red, white, and blue decorations are permitted.
The Auxiliary will provide decorating supplies on-site, or you are welcome to bring your own from home!
Judging criteria will be based on Creativity, Patriotism, and Decorations.

Horseshoe pits are looking amazing. Stakes adjusted, sand added, lines painted. Huge thank you to our volunteers. Ed Wernette, Colleen Beemer, Steve Norton, Jim Lenon and Brandon. Almost done planting flowers. Behind Bars Roadside Stand has some beautiful plants. Now on to the next projects, fixing up the horseshoe pits and getting the water samples done so we can open the Bromley pump.
