On Tuesday April 14th, while attending the Montrose School Performing Arts Banquet. We presented Lucy Elliffe a Lowell Mason Scholarship! Throughout her six years at the school, this young woman has starred in numerous musical productions, performed with the chamber choir, and contributed to the a ca****la group, the Treblemakers. In addition, she serves as a co-leader of the school’s school-wide coffeehouses.
This individual is a truly deserving recipient of this award and one who, we hope, will continue her participation in music and drama for years to come.

We've got so much to uncover this weekend! Join the historical marker unveiling at 6 p.m., Friday, 4/24 by Meetinghouse Pond, then stroll down the luminaria path to Dwight-Derby House for a reception and special remarks. Medfield TV will be capturing highlights, and the Medfield 375th Anniversary team will be represented!

Then on Saturday, 4/25, climb to the top of the Meetinghouse steeple, learn about King Philip War from our town historian, meet John Adams at our museum, see a waterwheel in action at Kingsbury Gristmill, and check out exhibits at Dwight-Derby House and Peak House Heritage Center.

Closing out the weekend on Sunday, 4/26, is a Medfield State Hospital walking tour (we've got a special permit!), the iconic Old Town Trolley tours board at Hinkley Park, tours of Lowell Mason House, a book signing with Wally Hersee at Dwight-Derby House, and the chance to visit other historic sites still on your list!

During normal Medfield Public Library hours, a scavenger hunt is also offered. It's all part of Medfield History Weekend! See the master schedule with links to ticketing so you can secure your spot: https://shorturl.at/vBQ7W

Medfield History Weekend Tours will be taking place this weekend! On Sunday 1-5pm visitors will see the plans for the reuse of Lowell Mason’s birthplace as we transform it into a vibrant center for music education and community engagement. The plans include a small addition, including an elevator, for access to all floors of this historic home as well as the two gathering spaces, a collections room and four music practice rooms. In its pre-construction state, they will see the historic construction techniques of timber frame construction, colonial stock posts, and reused timbers from the time of Medfield’s founding.
The house is adjacent to Hinkley Park at 59 Green Street. Tickets are free and available from the HistoryWeekend site here: https://www.ticketsource.com/historic-medfield
