Bird is the word! Join us at Powisset Farm in Dover this Saturday for a Nest Box Workshop! During this guided, hands-on workshop, participants will make their own nest boxes and learn about the importance of nest boxes to ornithological work. Participants will build Eastern Bluebird nest boxes on site, which they can bring home and install in their own backyard.

No prior experience is required for this workshop. All materials will be provided. This program is recommended for ages 12 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Please keep in mind that we will be working with several large power tools and carpentry equipment, including drills, hammers, and screwdrivers. Long pants and close-toed shoes are strongly encouraged.

This program is in partnership with TerraCorps and will be led by a TerraCorps volunteer.

Celebrate the opening of Millborn Farm on Saturday, June 20, from 1–4PM with a full day of nature exploration, hands-on activities, and outdoor discovery for all ages. Join The Trustees, community partners, and local experts as we welcome visitors to this special new property and its remarkable landscape of fields, forests, and old-growth trees.

Throughout the day, guests can enjoy guided bird hikes, family-friendly crafts, a nature scavenger hunt, and opportunities to explore the property at their own pace. Visitors can also participate in a community science activity using iNaturalist, a popular nature identification app that helps people document local plants, wildlife, and biodiversity while contributing to real-world conservation research.

Whether you’re interested in birds, trees, conservation, photography, or simply spending time outdoors, Millborn Farm’s opening celebration offers something for everyone. Bring your curiosity, comfortable walking shoes, and a spirit of exploration as we welcome the public to discover this beautiful new property together.

Please note: This event is free and open to the public. The property features uneven gravel paths and grassy terrain that may be difficult for some mobility devices. There is no rain date for this event.

Are you looking for an opportunity to spend time outside this summer, leading campers on exploratory nature hikes and environmental adventures? Are you energetic, fun, approachable, inclusive, and have leadership qualities?

We are hiring a Nature Educator for the YMCA Camp at Rocky Woods, a 10-week day camp located at Rocky Woods Reservation in Medfield, MA, a 491-acre reservation with scenic trails, stunning vistas, wildlife, ponds, and a deep history that makes this a special place to work.

Run by the YMCA of Greater Boston, Trustees Nature Educators spend two hours each day teaching campers ages 5-13 about the flora and fauna of the forest and pond, connecting children to the natural systems that support us all.

Tom will discuss his newly released book, "The Gap Years: Climbing, Skiing, and the Journey Back," an inspiring memoir that follows his decision to step away from a decades-long business career and return to the passions of his youth through mountaineering, endurance sports, and global adventure.
