Join us for a guided outdoor birding program where you’ll learn how to observe and identify local bird species. Participants can expect a relaxed pace with frequent stops for observation, suitable for both beginners and experienced birders.

The birding route will be determined based on trail conditions and other factors. Please note that some Rocky Woods trails include uneven terrain and minor elevation gain.

1,109 acres, protected... forever. 🌲

We're thrilled to share that two new conservation restrictions have permanently protected 1,109 acres of land owned by Hale Education in Dover and Westwood. This partnership with Hale Education, a non-profit outdoor education provider, was years in the making, and it protects one of the largest tracts of privately-owned, contiguous open space in the Boston metro area.

The Hale Education property is beloved for its hiking trails, birdwatching, mountain biking, and swimming, and includes critical wildlife habitat and climate-resilient forest that will now be protected for generations to come.

One of the two restrictions, covering 973 acres of Hale Education's land, is the largest single conservation restriction we've acquired since 1972. Together, the two CRs connect to our own Powisset Farm and Noanet Woodlands, forming a 2,172-acre block of contiguous protected land across Westwood and Dover.

Grateful to Hale Education for partnering with us to make this achievement possible, this is what's possible when committed partners work together with a shared vision for conservation. 🌿

Award-winning singer-songwriter Sarah Blacker rounds out the lineup for Rock the Woods! Outdoor Music Festival on August 15 from 11:30AM to 4:30PM!

A two-time New England Music Awards “Performer of the Year,” Blacker has become a standout on the regional music scene with her soulful vocals, folk-rock sound, and emotionally rich songwriting. Drawing on influences from Joni Mitchell and Tracy Chapman to classic rock and jazz, she delivers a powerful live performance with her husband and bandmate, Aaron Z. Katz.

Inspired by nature, connection, and the human experience, Blacker crafts uplifting original songs in which she hopes listeners will find reflections of themselves.
