MEET FINEGOLD ALEXANDER ARCHITECTS (FAA)
Attached is a slideshow introducing the FAA team, prior work, the steps needed for a successful building project, and a detailed schedule going forward. The next few months will be very busy as the future building project takes shape. Addition/renovations and new building options will be considered. The goal is for the community to reach a common goal for the building project by spring 2027.
We hope EVERYONE will be involved, attend our meetings, offer ideas, and help shape the future building project. Together, we can align on a shared vision for the Dale Street School.

SBC UPDATE - DESIGNER ARCHITECT SELECTED FOR DALE STREET SCHOOL PROJECT

On Tuesday morning, July 28th, the MSBA's (Massachusetts School Building Authority) Designer Selection Panel—which included three Medfield representatives—selected Finegold Alexander Architects (FAA) as the design partner for the Dale Street School building project. Following the standard contracting process, FAA will officially join the Medfield School Building Committee (SBC) and The Vertex Companies (the project's Owner's Project Manager) to complete the Dale Street School Building Project Team.

FAA was chosen after a competitive process that began with seven responses to the designer RFP. These were narrowed down to three finalists during a public MSBA meeting on July 14th, and all three were interviewed on July 28th. After presentations and discussions, each panel member provided a final score. Medfield School Building Committee co-chairs Carolyn Casey and Bill Werner commended all three finalists for their high quality, with FAA ultimately prevailing after a close vote.

FAA has extensive experience leading school projects, including complex renovations such as the 2020 addition to Brookline High School and the transformation of the Eliot Innovation School in Boston.

CHOOSING A DESIGNER:
The Designer Selection Panel, which is composed of three SBC members and twelve MSBA members, met on Tuesday, July 14th to discuss and score all submissions.

The 3 Designer Company Finalists are:
Finegold Alexander Associates,
Miller Dyer Spears (MDS),
Raymond Design Associates (RDA)

All three will be interviewed on Tuesday, July 28th starting @ 8:30 AM. MSBA meetings are conducted by ZOOM and are open to the public, so please check their website for information on how to watch the Finalists interviews. The goal is to have a Designer in place in early August.
