ATTENTION LAKERS:

Last week, we held our 3rd Annual Medford Lakes Crossing Guard Appreciation Luncheon. Please join me in thanking our outstanding Medford Lakes Crossing Guards for another successful school year.

This dedicated team is out twice each day—rain, snow, or shine—helping students and community members cross safely throughout our Borough. Their commitment, professionalism, and reliability play an important role in keeping our community safe.

During the luncheon, we were also proud to recognize Edward Mettinger, as the MLPD Crossing Guard of the Year. Ed has been a dedicated member of our crossing guard team since 2022 and has demonstrated remarkable perseverance while overcoming medical challenges. His dedication and positive attitude are an inspiration to us all.

We sincerely appreciate Ed and all of our crossing guards for their continued commitment to the safety and well-being of the students and residents of Medford Lakes. Thank you for all that you do! 🚴‍♀️🚴🚴‍♂️

Yesterday, Chief McGinnis, Sergeant McHugh, and Officer Parrish hosted the annual L.E.A.D. graduation ceremony at Beach 1 for the 5th grade students of Neeta School. The event celebrated the students’ hard work and participation in the program, where they learned about important topics including peer pressure, goal setting, friendships, alcohol, and drugs. Following the ceremony, students enjoyed a beach party featuring games, lunch, and dessert.

We were honored to have Lew Kalb as our special guest, who assisted in presenting graduation certificates and announcing each student’s name. We also recognized 5th Grade teacher Amy Wiker for her continued support of the Medford Lakes Police Department’s L.E.A.D. program and congratulated her on her upcoming retirement.

A special thank you goes to Murphy's Fresh Markets for generously donating all of the food for the event. Their continued support of the L.E.A.D. program year after year is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to all of the students and award winners on a successful graduation. It was another great day with the students, and we look forward to many more beach graduations in the future.
