Calling all artists! πŸ“£ Bring your creative ideas to life in Medford. ✨

The Medford Public Arts Selection Committee is once again offering Partnership Grants from $500 to $5,000 to support local arts programs, events, exhibits, and youth art opportunities.

Last year’s grants supported:
🎢 Southern Oregon Repertory Singers' holiday concert at The Historic Holly Theatre
🎨 Rogue Gallery and Art Center’s Family and Friends Day
πŸ™οΈ Paint the Town, which will feature local artwork on vinyl wraps installed on downtown utility boxes

From hot dogs and co****le to donut-eating contests and face painting, there was something for everyone. Attendees also had the chance to explore public safety vehicles, ask questions, and spend time with members of the department. πŸ’¬

Last night, the City Council approved more than $1 million in grants through the Council Community Initiative Fund to support local programs that strengthen our community, enhance public spaces, and expand educational and cultural opportunities. πŸ‘

Funded projects include:
πŸš’ Building a memorial to honor Medford firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice
⭐ Establishing a Fourth of July celebration at RogueX
🐢 Supporting SoHumane's work to help at-risk animals and provide community resources
🏊 Providing scholarships for Rogue Rapids so more youth can dive into the sport
🎨 Expanding access to educational opportunities and programs at The Children’s Museum of Southern Oregon

These funds come from local and state ma*****na tax revenues and reflect Medford’s commitment to building a stronger community for all. 🀝

Located at Howard Memorial Sports Park near RogueX, the new courts double the City's places to play. Lights stay on until 9 p.m., so the games can continue into the evening! πŸ’‘

π—ͺπ—˜π—”π—§π—›π—˜π—₯ π—”π—Ÿπ—˜π—₯𝗧: Due to current weather conditions, the National Weather Service has extended the Red Flag Warning for Medford. The warning is now in effect from 2–9 p.m. today, Aug. 5, and 2–8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6. ⚠️

‼️ Public access to Prescott Park will be curtailed for the duration of the warning and will reopen Friday morning, if conditions allow.
🚩 What is a Red Flag Warning? A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. These conditions promote rapid spread of fire which may become life threatening.
❌ Avoid tossing burning ci******es on the ground, parking hot vehicles on dry vegetation, and using equipment that can cause sparks.
