A great turnout for Medford’s 2nd Annual Back-to-School Resource Day at City Hall! 🎒📚

Through the generosity of local businesses, organizations, and community members, families had access to free backpacks, school supplies, health resources, snacks, kids’ activities, and information to get ready for the school year.

Thank you to all of the community partners and city staff who helped make this event possible.

It was great to attend the ribbon cutting for Bonsai Child Care at Shiloh Baptist Church! This project is a wonderful example of how Community Preservation Act (CPA) funding can help preserve our community’s historic spaces. Funding for this project went to ADA improvements and building restoration.

The renovated space is a fantastic investment in the church, the school, and the families they serve.

Congratulations Yuliya on opening the new location of Bonsai Learning Academy and thank you to the Board of Trustees for helping make this project possible and for continuing to invest in our community! 🎉

Beginning today, purple ribbons will be displayed throughout Medford Square as part of the Adopt a Pole campaign, honoring loved ones lost to substance use and recognizing International Overdose Awareness Day and National Recovery Month. Each ribbon represents a life deeply loved and missed, while reminding us that recovery is possible, support is available, and no one is alone.

Thank you to Scars in Heaven, our community partners, volunteers, and everyone who helped bring this meaningful campaign to Medford.

Stopped by Tufts Park to ref the Medford Summer Fun Camp vs. Medford Recreation Counselor basketball game!

Medford Rec took back the trophy this year with a decisive 13 point win.

These counselors do such a great job leading our kids all summer so it was great to see them have a little fun before school starts back up.

We are so honored to have been voted the “Most Fun Place to Find Waldo” by the families participating in the Find Waldo Local Program, organize Moon and Back Bookstore owner Michelle Smith.

This is such an incredible program that not only helps to support local businesses in Medford but also gets kids more excited and interested in reading over the summer.

Thank you so much to everyone who came to my office at City Hall and found Waldo. And of course, thank you to Michelle for being the engine behind this wonderful activity.
