🚨 Commercial Structure Fire 🚨

At approximately 12:24pm this afternoon, the Medford Fire Department was activated for a reported commercial structure fire at the laundromat located in the shopping center at 700 County Road 101.

First arriving Station 1 units were met with heavy smoke pushing from the front door of the laundromat. Upon making entry, crews located a dryer unit on fire with extension into the attic space. Firefighters quickly stretched lines and made an aggressive attack, successfully preventing any additional fire spread throughout the building.

We would like to thank the Hagerman Fire Department for responding and providing a Rapid Intervention Team, as well as the Ronkonkoma Fire Department for standing by to cover any additional alarms during the incident.

Great work by all responding personnel. πŸš’πŸ”₯

πŸ”₯ Outside Fire Response πŸ”₯

At approximately 1703 hrs, the Medford Fire Department was activated for a reported outside fire in the area of Horseblock Road and Fairmont Avenue.

First arriving units were met with a heavy fire load involving multiple sheds, a boat, and a large area of brush. Crews worked quickly and efficiently to stretch and place 5 attack lines into operation to prevent any additional fire spread and bring the incident under control.

Mutual aid was requested from the Holtsville, Farmingville, and Coram Fire Departments for additional engine crews to the scene. The Patchogue Fire Department provided an engine crew to stand by in Medford and handle any additional alarms within the district.

Outstanding teamwork and coordination by all departments involved. Great job by everyone operating on scene! πŸš’
