🏇🌹 Monthly Roundup: Kentucky Derby Day Fun! 🌹🏇

This month, we brought the excitement of the Kentucky Derby to our community outreach event at the Rose Caracappa Senior Center! Town of Brookhaven Parks and Recreation Guests enjoyed sipping on classic mint juleps, delicious key lime pie, and plenty of Derby-inspired fun.

Dressed to impress in their beautifully decorated wide-brimmed hats, adorned with gorgeous bows and creative flair. The hat contest was a crowd favorite, showcasing style, elegance, and lots of personality!

They put their luck to the test during our horse racing game, with prizes and certificates awarded to our 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners.

Our residents joined in on the excitement at MMC, cheering on the races as well. And thanks to a little AI magic, we even managed to bring in a few extra horses for the occasion! 🐎

✨ Throwback Thursday to celebrating our centenarian Connie’s incredible 100th birthday! 🎉💯

Connie was all smiles as we honored this amazing milestone. She continues to enjoy staying active each day through therapeutic recreation programs, bringing joy, laughter, and inspiration to everyone around her. ❤️

Cheers to 100 wonderful years and many more happy moments ahead! 🥳🎂

🦀🌊We had a wonderful visit from the Long Island Aquarium Atlantis bringing the seashore right to us with an interactive touch tank experience! Residents, staff and families enjoyed a hands-on opportunity to explore fascinating Long Island marine life including the whelk mollusk, spider crab, and hermit crab. 🦀🐚

Everyone enjoyed learning fun facts about these local sea creatures, feeling their unique textures, and getting up close with the wonders of the ocean. Smiles, curiosity, and excitement filled the room as we brought a piece of the Long Island shoreline indoors for an unforgettable educational adventure! 🌊

A beautiful day at the vineyards! 🍇🍷 Residents enjoyed dressing to impress in their stylish sun hats while taking part in a relaxing winery tour experience, listening to beautiful sounds of the violin to enhance the mood. Guests sampled classic charcuterie board appetizers and learned about a selection of fine wines-comparing aromas, flavors, and notes with each tasting. The clear crowd favorite? The dessert wine! 🍷✨

Here’s to making more wonderful memories as we continued to explore Long Island destinations together. Cheers to fun, friendship, and new experiences! 🥂

Fun memories were made as we had a blast with our special guest, Wolfie from Stony Brook University, in honor of our Long Island, New York Sports Day! ⚾🏀🏒

Our residents and families enjoyed an exciting day filled with adaptive sports including baseball, hockey, basketball, and more alongside wonderful college athletes who joined in on the fun. From cheering each other on to sharing laughs and team spirit, the day was full of energy and smiles. 📣

We also enjoyed delicious soft pretzels and root beer-truly a “take me out to the ball game” kind of day! 💙🧡

💝 Another year of making beautiful memories to remember at our Annual Mother’s Day Brunches☕️ 💐

A special thank you to our incredible Therapeutic Recreation and Food Service departments for hosting these special events. Everything was tastefully decorated alongside serving delicious food, heartwarming music entertainment was played and the smiles carried throughout were contagious.

We are so grateful for families like you and wish you all a very Happy Mother’s Day 💕

✨We had a great time at our Stand up comedy event at Gallo Restaurant in Patchogue! So many partners from the community came out and we were lucky to thank them with a live performance from 4 stand up comics. 🎭🎤

Thanks to our great teams, Sunrise Manor Center for Nursing And Rehabilitation and Medford Multicare Center for hosting and providing a great evening for all who came!
