Taylor County Literacy Council donated the book If You Give a Pig a Pancake to all four year olds throughout Taylor County for Week of the Young Child. MAES and SES Pre-K students had Mr Joe read the story to them.

Read with a Hero at the Medford Chamber Home and Business Expo. Representative Karen Hurd read the book Bear's New Friend by Karma Wilson. Children listened to the story and then did crafts with the Rib Lake Public Library.

Thank you to the 400+ who came to our Family Game Night and to WAOW TV 9 and Star News of Medford who covered our event.

We had Green Bay Packer Evan Williams, Pizza donated by Nestle, History of Tombstone Pizza with the Simek Family, CARES Model, Taylor County Drug Opposition Partners, Prevent Su***de of Taylor County, Bingo by Kiwanis, Taylor County Health Dept, Lions Club, Medford Schools Our Special Family, Raise Your Voice Student Group, and Raiders Committed.

Families saw juggler with yellow shoes, played Big Red Bingo, ate pizza, spun the wheel for prizes, got books, played games, learned about mental health and AODA resources, learned about history of Tombstone Pizza in Medford and more.

Thank you to M**S Principal Mrs Butler and all the staff at Medford Middle School for hosting our event.

Curl for Children 4

Event Information:
Children 12 and under must have an adult on the ice with them at all times. Adults can, but do not need to, curl.

Everyone on the ice must wear clean tennis shoes (gym shoes are a great option).

Instructors will be available to teach basic curling skills and provide opportunities for participants to practice curling fundamentals.

If space is available on any sheet of ice, participants may go back out for more practice.

Taylor County Literacy Council is looking for partners to help us bring the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to Taylor County.

Here is a list of the books which would be mailed to the homes of each registered child birth through four years of age.

For more information on how to be a partner organization, make an individual donation, and/or sponsorship of a child(ren) please contact me or a Taylor County Literacy Council member for more info.

We are hopeful to be approved for the program and begin child registrations by April 1st if enough support can be pledged for the program.
