Dear Medford School District Community,

After a nationwide search, the Board of Directors is excited to announce Jeanne Grazioli as the next Superintendent of the Medford School District.

The comprehensive search included extensive stakeholder engagement and community feedback. Timelines and updates were shared throughout the process. Additional information can be found on the district website, linked here: https://msd549c.com/superintendent-search. The national search yielded 26 candidates, narrowed to eight semifinalists, and ultimately two finalists.

We thank McPherson & Jacobson for facilitating the search and demonstrating the utmost professionalism. We also thank the many staff, students, families, and community members who contributed valuable input throughout our selection process, which included 55 pages of survey feedback, and two diverse stakeholder interview panels who interviewed both finalists. Every comment was read and considered. We had two very strong finalists, who both reflected our community's desire for transparency, honesty, trustworthiness, listening and communication skills, teaching experience, and the ability to hold others accountable as well as being accountable themselves. The Board carefully selected the candidate who would best serve the district and who had the most desirable qualities as expressed by our staff, students, families, and community.

Throughout her 14 years in Medford, Grazioli has demonstrated a deep understanding of the community, a collaborative approach, and steady leadership in multiple roles. With more than 30 years in education, Grazioli is focused on improving student outcomes and strengthening district systems. During the past 10 months as Interim Superintendent, Grazioli has prioritized listening, building relationships, and reviewing district strengths and priorities. The interview panels noted that Grazioli is known as a thoughtful, humble, and approachable leader who values multiple perspectives. All involved appreciate that Grazioli has built strong leadership teams and strengthened the partnership between leadership and the Board during her time as the Interim Superintendent.

Upon being offered the position, Grazioli shared that she is โ€œgrateful for the opportunity to serve as the next Superintendent. We have a strong foundation and a community that cares deeply about its schools. By building on whatโ€™s working and addressing challenges with clarity and courage, we can ensure every student has the opportunities they deserve.โ€

Please join us in congratulating Jeanne Grazioli, our next Superintendent of the Medford School District. The Board will now begin formal contract negotiations with Grazioli. We are committed to supporting every student, and look forward to doing this work collaboratively and effectively.

Thank you,
Board of Directors
Medford School District
