As another school year gets underway, we want to take a moment to recognize the incredible people who continue to show up for local kids and families.

A HUGE thank you to every business, organization, family, and community member who donated to the 2026 Meals in a Backpack Campaign! Your generosity helps make sure local children have food to take home over the weekends when school meals aren’t available.

This program is about so much more than a backpack of food. It’s about making sure kids feel supported, cared for, and reminded that their community believes in them. ❤️

We are so grateful for every donation, volunteer and helping hand that made this year possible. Because of YOU, we are making a real difference for children and families right here in our community. 🥰

United Way of Taylor County is excited to bring our community together for the 2026 Day of Caring!

This special day is all about coming together, lending a helping hand, and making a lasting impact. Volunteers will work alongside local nonprofits and community organizations to complete projects they may not have the time, resources, or extra hands to tackle on their own.

Projects may include:
🧹 Cleaning & organizing
🌳 Outdoor work
🔨 Maintenance & repairs
📦 Organizing & moving
❤️ Other projects that help strengthen our community

Drop off your backpacks, local grocery store gift cards, dry cereal, oatmeal, fruit cups, juice boxes, canned fruit and vegetables, snack bars (such as granola and fruit bars), canned soup, peanut butter and jelly, mac 'n cheese, pasta, rice products, spaghetti sauce, and other non-perishable food items to any of these local collection sites!

HERE'S HOW YOU CAN HELP
1. Be a collection site: You can contribute by collecting backpacks, local grocery store gift cards, dry cereal, oatmeal, fruit cups, juice boxes, canned fruit and vegetables, snack bars (such as granola and fruit bars), canned soup, peanut butter and jelly, mac 'n cheese, pasta, rice products, spaghetti sauce, and other non-perishable food items.

2. Make a monetary donation: You can support the program by making a monetary donation. Please make checks payable to United Way of Taylor County, and send them to PO Box 85, Medford, WI 54451. Write "Meals in a Backpack" on the memo line. Alternatively, you can donate online at www.uwtaylor.org.

3. Conduct a donor match campaign: Help us maximize our impact by organizing a donor match campaign to encourage more donations.

4. Spread the word: Tell other generous community members about this campaign!

United Way of Taylor County is excited to announce the 2026 Day of Caring! This is an opportunity for community members, businesses, and corporate teams to come together and make a meaningful impact through volunteer service.

The Day of Caring is a day of action where volunteers help complete projects that local nonprofits and community organizations may not have the time, resources, or manpower to accomplish on their own. Projects may include cleaning, organizing, outdoor work, maintenance, and other important tasks that strengthen our community.

☀️ SEEKING PROJECT REQUESTS & VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers:
Whether you can give a half day or a full day, your time makes a difference!

Morning shift: 8 AM – Noon

Full-day volunteers will receive a free lunch from Noon – 1 PM

Nonprofit Organizations:
