U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Amareni Sanchez, a native of Central Point, Oregon, recruited from RSS Medford, provides security with an M4 carbine while her fireteam prepares an explosive charge onto a simulated door.

As a Combat Engineer with the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), Cpl. Sanchez conducted this combined arms live-fire training at Camp Fuji, Japan, to enhance tactical proficiency. This demanding training ensures the 31st MEU—the Marine Corps’ continuously forward-deployed crisis response force—remains lethal and ready to operate across the Indo-Pacific.
