The Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust (M-BELT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring the historic Brooks Estate on behalf of the people and the City of Medford as a space for environmental conservation and community enjoyment. Nestled in a landscape of wooded paths along Grove Street in West Medford, The Brooks Estate offers sanctuary for visitors seeking escape from the

hustle and bustle of city life. Enjoy nature’s rich pageant year-round along The Brooks Pond habitat, where fish, migrating birds, and various forest creatures make their home. Follow the walking path up to the majestic Shepherd Brooks Manor and Carriage House, each an architectural masterpiece and the focus of ongoing restoration for continued community benefit. Parking for today's event: Parking is available along 250-284 Grove Street, as well as the lower end of Apache Trail. Enter via the green gate on foot and walk up the access drive (approx. 3/4 mi with an incline). Parking is also available at the end of Sussex Road in Wi******er. It is a shorter and flatter walk to the Brooks Estate from the Sussex Road, Wi******er access path. Please be respectful of these residential areas and to not block anyone’s driveway. Please do not park in Oak Grove Cemetery.

Join us next Saturday from 12p-5p for fantastic live bands, pizza from the Crop Circle food truck, local beer from Medford Brewing Company, and tours of the Manor. Proceeds from food and beverage sales will benefit the Medford-Brooks Estate.

We’ll lead manor tours at 1:00, 2:30, and 4:00pm. There will be a special unveiling of our new Eagle Scout Kiosk at 2:30!

Did You Know? John Brooks, who lived on the estate but was a doctor and militia officer in Reading, was a key leader (at the age of 23) in the Battles of Lexington and Concord. Later, Brooks served under George Washington in New York and New Jersey. He played a decisive role in the colonial victory at the Battle of Saratoga. John Brooks was governor of Massachusetts from 1816 to 1823.
