Today officially ends my time as the Assemblyman of the 8th Legislative District. It's been a challenging but fulfilling four years, and nothing good in life comes without a challenge.

I wanted to thank you, the people, for supporting me through my two terms. I've tried to serve from the ground up and bring my community's issues to Trenton, and I couldn't have done that without such a strong group of people behind me. This is your seat in the assembly. Never forget that.

I'll cherish my time as your representative, fighting for affordability issues, tax issues and against grift in Trenton. I'm proud of wrestling with Trenton to finally end the combat zone tax on our state's current military heroes and to introduce fraud protections against the state's corporate welfare policies. But what I'm most proud of is connecting with my residents on a consistent basis through our District Day of Service. I'll always remember handing out meals to seniors during the pandemic and sleeping in the cold in our office parking lot to raise money for homeless youth.

It's been a great four years. While I'm stepping down to spend more time with my wife and kids, I promise to still be present in the community. Thank you.

🚨 Proud Pappa Post 🚨
Tonight I had the honor of swearing in my good friend and Chief of Staff, Brian Woods, as a Committeeman of Shamong Township. Brian has been with me since the beginning through many ups and downs. He’s a political genius and will do great things for Shamong. Congratulations, brother.

Congratulations to our December Senior Student Spotlight winner, Valora Wong, an Eastern Regional High School senior. Valora’s academic achievements during her years at Eastern really stuck out to me. She was recently named the October School District Scholar of the Month, an AP scholar and a National Merit Scholarship Program Commended Scholar. She has also maintained honor roll throughout her high school career, while being President of the National Honors Society and Spanish Honor Society. Valora is involved in many clubs, including Student Alliance, Interact and Model United Nations. Maintaining these grades while participating in clubs, the Select Women’s Choir and the Tennis team displays how well-rounded Valora is. Being so involved inside and outside her school wall will set her up for a very bright future. Enjoy the rest of your senior year, Valora!

Cheers to a New Year! I hope everyone has a great year.

Both houses of the legislature today approved a measure that would formally codify same-s*x marriage into the state statutes; currently, marriage equality
