The Delaware County Department of Emergency Services congratulates Upper Darby Paramedic Rescue - Station 500 on placing a new ALS unit into service here in Delaware County. The new unit is located in Collingdale Fire Company - Station 33 providing services to the surrounding areas.

Today, we say farewell to another member of the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services family.

Robert Narcavage, better known to many as “Narc” served his final day with the Department today, closing out an incredible career dedicated to public safety and service to the residents of Delaware County.

Rob began his journey with Delaware County in 1990 as a part-time dispatcher before becoming full-time with Delaware County 911 in 1993 as Dispatcher #96. Throughout his career, Rob spent many years serving in Fire Dispatch before transitioning into the role of Deputy Chief of Special Operations for DES.

We thank Rob for more than three decades of committed service and wish him nothing but the best in his retirement. Congratulations, Narc!

Today marked the conclusion of a week-long deployment by the Delaware County Department of Emergency Services Field Communications Unit at the 2026 PGA Championship hosted at Aronimink Golf Club.

Throughout the championship, a team of 12 ECC FieldComm Operators worked many hours managing and coordinating critical communications for public safety operations surrounding one of the region’s largest sporting events. Their professionalism, dedication, and technical expertise helped ensure seamless interoperability and coordination between numerous public safety agencies throughout the week.

This deployment highlighted the importance of advanced planning, regional cooperation, and strong partnerships between local, county, state, and event personnel. The Delaware County Department of Emergency Services is proud to have supported the safe and successful operation of this international event. Additionally, this deployment also highlighted Delaware County’s new P25 Public Safety Radio network and was the first large multi-day event utilizing the new system and it proved to be excellent! The new P25 emergency communications radio system was launched in December of 2025.

Special thanks to the PGA of America, Newtown Township Police Department, Emergency Management teams, and all partnering agencies and personnel whose collaboration made this event a tremendous success.

Early this morning, Drone 54 made the response into Radnor Township to assist Radnor Fire Company on a 3 alarm dwelling fire. The fire is significant but has been placed under control by command.

On Monday, the Delaware County CISM Team was invited to participate in the launch of National Correctional Officers Week at the George W. Hill Correctional Facility, where team members engaged with correction officers, emphasizing the significance of mental and emotional well-being, available resources, and how they can be accessed.

This morning, Delaware County Emergency Services 911 participated in the TRA-DRPA Full Scale Exercise at the Commodore Barry Bridge in Chester City.

The simulation focused on a catastrophic incident scenario, emphasizing coordinated fire department operations and interoperability between Pennsylvania and New Jersey 911 centers, along with partnering agencies. Exercises like this are critical to strengthening regional collaboration and ensuring a unified, effective response when it matters most.
