Today, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office was proud to join the Chester Community Coalition, community leaders, residents and advocates for the Peace Walk Against Gun Violence in Chester.

As we recognize National Gun Violence Awareness Month, we stand with our neighbors and friends in Chester and remain committed to making our communities safer.

As a law enforcement agency, our commitment goes beyond words. Every day, our deputies work to locate and apprehend wanted individuals, execute warrants, and partner with other law enforcement to remove dangerous offenders from our streets. Preventing violence and holding those who threaten our neighborhoods accountable is at the core of our mission.

We will not allow violence to define our communities. Instead, we stand united in our commitment to peace and safety for all.

Today’s march was a powerful statement that residents, community leaders, and law enforcement are strongest when we stand as one.

Today, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office joins law enforcement agencies across the region in mourning the tragic loss of Officer Kristen Yeager, who lost her life in the line of duty while responding to a call for service.

Officer Yeager’s dedication to protecting and serving her community reflects the courage, selflessness, and commitment demonstrated by law enforcement officers every day. Her sacrifice is a solemn reminder of the risks our officers face in service to others.

We extend our deepest condolences to Officer Yeager’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire department during this incredibly difficult time. May they find strength, comfort, and support in the days ahead.

Rest in peace, Officer Kristen Yeager. Your service, sacrifice, and legacy will never be forgotten.

2026 Hero Bowl in Delaware County 🏈

The 2026 Hero Bowl was held at Cardinal O’Hara High School, bringing together the Delaware County community for a meaningful fundraiser supporting the children of fallen police officers as they pursue higher education.

The event was a strong display of unity, remembrance, and community support. The Delaware County Sheriff’s Office Honor Guard, deputies, and our K-9 unit participated and assisted with ceremonial duties and crowd support throughout the evening.

A great night of football, service, and honoring the sacrifice of our fallen heroes.

This week, the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office conducted hands-on Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) training focused on strengthening the skills, preparedness, and professionalism of our deputies, led by Sergeant Thomas McAuliffe.

GST is a law-enforcement defensive tactics program based heavily on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu principles.
Developed by the Gracie family specifically for police and corrections professionals, the training emphasizes control techniques, officer safety, teamwork, and effective real-world response tactics.

Training is critical to maintaining our accreditation, improving our capabilities, and ensuring continued success as a modern law enforcement agency.

Sheriff Kamara participated alongside members of the team, reinforcing the importance of leading from the front and continuing to invest in the highest standards of public safety and service for the residents of Delaware County.

Yesterday, our Community Outreach Unit proudly attended Bell Avenue Elementary School’s Annual Career Day to spend time with students in Grades K–6. Deputy Amatucci and his partner, K-9 Zladco had the opportunity to speak with students about law enforcement, service, and the importance of building strong relationships within our communities.

Moments like this matter. Positive interactions with young people help build trust, inspire confidence, and show students that law enforcement is a noble profession rooted in service, leadership, and protecting others.

Law enforcement is a career path open to anyone willing to work hard, serve others, and lead with integrity.

🚨 WARRANT WEDNESDAY 🚨

Warrant work is the most dangerous work we do at the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office. Every day, our Warrant Unit places themselves in unpredictable and dangerous situations to locate and apprehend wanted offenders, remove threats from our streets, and keep Delaware County residents safe. Our deputies will continue searching until you are found.

⚠️ WE WILL FIND YOU ⚠️

Wishing a joyful Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating throughout Delaware County.

Please join the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office in welcoming Elaina Miller as one of our summer interns!

Elaina is currently studying Criminal Justice at Widener University and is eager to learn more about public service and law enforcement. Internships give young people valuable real-world experience and help prepare the next generation of leaders in our communities.

We are thrilled to have Elaina with us this summer.

Last week, Lt. Piernik of the Delaware County Sheriff’s Office attended the FBI-LEEDA Managing and Conducting Investigations training hosted at the Chester County Public Safety Training Campus.

Sheriff Kamara strongly believes in continued training and professional development for law enforcement personnel. FBI-LEEDA is recognized as one of the premier law enforcement leadership and investigative training programs in the country, providing officers with top-tier instruction and real-world knowledge.

Trainings like this help strengthen investigative skills, reinforce the importance of following proper procedures and channels, and ensure internal investigations are conducted fairly, accurately, and professionally.

By investing in advanced training opportunities, our deputies continue to build the knowledge and skills needed to serve the people of Delaware County with integrity, accountability and professionalism.

Coatesville, Pennsylvania hosted a focused and productive week of professional development as FBI-LEEDA brought its Managing and Conducting Internal Affairs Investigation course to Chester County. Instructors Mary Rook and David McGill guided participants through the critical principles and best practices that define effective and accountable internal affairs work.

Congratulations to this week's graduates on completing the course — the knowledge and skills gained this week will make a lasting impact on how you lead and serve your agencies.

A sincere thank you to Chester County Public Safety Training Campus and Deputy Director for Public Safety Training Gerry Lindenlauf for hosting and for their continued commitment to advancing professional development in the region.
