The passing of PA House Bill 2443 is a big step forward for Child Advocacy Centers.

Thank you, for passing this bipartisan legislation which will provide funding for victims of child sexual abuse and their families. It will also provide Pennsylvania CACs the resources to build prevention programs to reduce the number of child victims.

Thank you to Pennsylvania legislators in the House and Senate for uniting around and prioritizing child victims by passing House Bill 2443 with strong, bipartisan support.

This important step forward will strengthen funding for the services child abuse victims receive at Pennsylvania’s Children’s Advocacy Centers and help ensure that these young survivors receive the safety, justice and specialized care they deserve.

We are especially thankful to have had the advocacy of the bill’s co-sponsors, Rep. Kyle Mullins and PA State Rep. Jim Rigby, and Senator Scott Martin in strengthening and advancing the legislation throughout this process.

House and Senate leaders worked closely, across parties, to create legislation that holds offenders financially responsible for the harm they cause, while funding the very services that help children heal.

October is National Family Sexuality Education Month, or Let’s Talk Month.

Today is National Boss’s Day!!

Since we had our all staff meeting on Tuesday, we took the opportunity to celebrate Sarah a little early. We wanted Sarah to know how much we appreciate everything she does as our Executive Director.

Sarah doesn’t just talk about self-care, she makes sure each one of us lives it. The work we do is heavy and burnout can be common, but Sarah creates an environment of support and self growth.

To show Sarah our appreciation we created a bouquet of balloons with the many faces of Sarah and some words to let her know what we love so much about her!

Thank you Sarah, for being an amazing boss!

When they say, “it takes a village”…

Across Delaware County, organizations bring different expertise to supporting victims, survivors, children and families.

Each of us provides specialized services, and those services can intersect when someone is experiencing domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse, legal needs, elder victimization or involvement in the child-welfare system.

The door you enter doesn’t matter. What matters is getting the support you need. We understand our different roles and work together to help connect people with the right resources.

Last spring, Angeline traveled to Alabama to begin her training as a Forensic Interviewer, and today she reached an exciting milestone—her very first official interview!

Knowing Angeline and the deeply caring, compassionate heart she brings to everything she does makes this moment even more special. We couldn’t be more proud of how far she has come and the meaningful difference she is already making through this important work.

Drexel University put out a glowing alumni article featuring Maryann and the amazing work she does as our solo Human Trafficking Advocate. Cases like these don’t always fit into office hours and sometimes Maryann finds herself working odd and long hours, but she does it all with a positive attitude and always wears a smile.

Family Support Line and all of Maryann’s clients are lucky to have her!
