Media Borough Council today announced its intent not to join the proposed regional Emergency Medical Services (EMS) authority, determining that it will be less expensive for residents and the municipal government to remain with current provider Main Line Health in 2027, rather than joining the authority and paying the associated fees. The Council will instead continue its partnership with Main Line Health to maintain advanced life support services within the borough. Council will formally vote on this decision at its September 17, 2026 public meeting.
The decision follows a year-long review by Borough Council of both the proposed regional authority structure and the borough's existing EMS arrangement, weighing cost, service quality and long-term sustainability for residents.
