The tennis courts at Barrall Field will be closed tomorrow from 10 AM to 3 PM due to maintenance.

This Saturday Oct 24th, at 11AM the annual Media Halloween Parade is going to be the best ever!
The lineup includes:
🎶🥁Three High School marching bands: Strath Haven, Interboro, and of our course our very own Penncrest Roaring Lions

👻The Philadelphia Ghostbusters

🦸🏻‍♂️ The super heroes & characters of D-Force

📣💙Cheer squads & Community Groups

🚛🛻 Spooky cars and trucks

& More!

📍 Parade Route: Starts at State & Gayley, heads down State to Orange, moves down Orange to Front, and finishes from Front to Olive.

🧷Make sure to stay on the sidewalks at all times during the parade.

🎃Costume wearing encouraged !

Plan to stick around after the parade to support all of Media’s incredible restaurants, cafes, and shops!

(📚Also, it'll be Day 1 of the Media Library Book Sale: stop in for great deals/reads. Costumed kids get $1 off 12-4PM.)

Tomorrow from 6PM to 7:30PM, the Media Fair Trade Committee is hosting a free informal celebration of National Fair Trade Month. It will be at Media Mercantile (21 E State St), which sells some products made in certified fair trade factories. Drop in for fair trade snacks and beverages, and copies of Paul Rice’s new book.

And don't forget: Friday's through the end of October, Media Recreation Board hosts volleyball at Barrall Field. 6:30-8:30PM. Ages 16+

EAC members, along with some Media residents, began replanting the traffic island at 6th St, Edgmont St and Providence Rd. The first step was to remove existing nonnative plants around the base of the tree replace them with drought resistant native plants. Next, a deep layer of mulch will be applied on the remaining grass to so it can be planted in the spring. In that final phase, more natives will be planted in a newly designed garden.
