Kiwanis Club of Medina to hold Arbor Day celebration Thursday

COVID-19 isn’t going to stop the Kiwanis Club of Medina from celebrating Arbor Day.

Normally, all the top third graders in the city of Medina — this year totaled 522 youngsters — are invited to a Kiwanis luncheon to read penned essays on trees. That was canceled due to COVID-19, but a video presentation will help keep the essay tradition alive.

Are you under 60?

Do you have access to a pickup truck?

The Kiwanis Club of Medina needs your help.

Following Governor Dewine's request that we fly the flag to show unity in this difficult time we need help putting out the flags that our Club ordinarily does not put out until Memorial Day.

To comply with Social Distancing only members of the same household may work together and due to the everyone over 60 being considered high risk, only those under 60 can help.

If you can help, we would greatly appreciate it. Please volunteer by replying to this post or by sending a message on FB Messenger.

Thank you!

4OTH YEAR 😊
I would like to know how we can get a free gold card for both my Husband and myself to be admitted to the Medina county Fair. Friends of ours said they received theirs for being married a long time. We have also been married for 52 years. Please let me know what else we are entitled to. Thank you. The Oblak's
Fellow Noon Kiwanians: I wanted to let you all know that it was the consensus of the First Night committee (with the support of Kiwanis Service Committee Chair) that we cancel the First Night Medina event planned for December 31, 2017. I want to thank those of you who have supported our efforts to bring this event to Medina again this year. Unfortunately, we missed a few key benchmarks and did not feel confident we had the resources to make this year successful. Pam Wagner, First Night Chairperson.
