NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS REGARDING PROPOSED INCREASES TO SANITARY SEWER AND WATER RATES

Notice is hereby given that the Medina County Board of Commissioners will conduct three (3) public hearings to receive public comment regarding proposed increases to sanitary sewer and water rates charged by the Medina County Sanitary Engineering Department.

The proposed rate increases are as follows:

SANITARY SEWER RATES
• Sanitary sewer user rate: Increase from $32.75 to $36.00 per equivalent residential unit (ERU) per month.
• Sanitary sewer debt charge: Increase from $11.00 to $16.00 per ERU per month.

WATER RATES
• Water user rate: Increase from $10.50 to $12.50 per 1,000 gallons.
• Water debt charge: Increase from $10.00 to $13.00 per equivalent meter ratio (EMR) per month.

The public hearings will be held at:

Medina, Ohio 44256

Hearing Dates and Times:
• Monday, October 5, 2026 — 1:00 p.m.
• Monday, October 5, 2026 — 7:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, October 13, 2026 — 8:30 a.m.

Members of the public are invited to attend and provide comments concerning the proposed sanitary sewer and water rate increases.
The proposed rate increases have not yet been adopted. Following completion of the public hearings and consideration of public comments, the Board of County Commissioners will consider whether to adopt the proposed rate increases.

PUBLIC LOBBY REOPENING: Our Billing Department payment counter and front lobby are tentatively scheduled to reopen to the public after Labor Day.

Important Update: The certification of delinquent water and sewer account balances has been rescheduled. Medina County Sanitary Engineering will no longer be certifying eligible delinquent account balances in August 2026. Certification will now take place in December 2026.

The Medina County Sanitary Engineer Billing Department counter remains closed due to ongoing lobby renovations, with anticipated completion in September 2026.

***Please note: The drop box at the front of the building is no longer available during construction.***

Payments may still be made online, by phone, or by mail. In-person payments are being accepted at the Sanitary Permits Counter, located in the lobby at the rear of the building.

The Medina County Sanitary Engineer Billing Department counter will be CLOSED beginning April 20, 2026, due to lobby renovations, with anticipated completion in September 2026.

Payments may still be made online, by phone, or by mail. Onsite payments may be placed in the drop box at the front of the building or delivered to the Sanitary Permits Counter, located in the lobby at the back of the building.
