For the second time this week, Boston MedFlight was requested for a trauma patient following a serious fall. The patient sustained significant but non-life-threatening injuries and was transported for specialized care.

As call volume continues to increase, we are grateful to have expanded our staffing levels. Additional personnel allow us to maintain service to the community while ensuring resources remain available for simultaneous emergencies and complex incidents such as this one.

We appreciate the continued partnership of our regional healthcare and public safety partners, including Boston MedFlight, whose rapid response and specialized capabilities help provide the highest level of care when our patients need it most.

We wish the patient a full and speedy recovery.

This morning, the Medway Fire Department responded to the intersection of Village Street and Oakland Street for a collision involving a passenger vehicle and a 14-year-old e-bicyclist.

Due to the nature of the injuries, was requested to transport the patient to a regional trauma center. The patient sustained significant but non-life-threatening injuries.

Incidents like this serve as an important reminder that our roadways are shared by motorists, bicyclists, pedestrians, and other vulnerable users. E-bikes have become increasingly common in our communities, and riders are often difficult to see, especially at intersections and while turning.

Motorists: Please take an extra moment to scan intersections, check mirrors and blind spots, and remain alert for cyclists and pedestrians.

Riders: Wear a properly fitted helmet, obey traffic laws, make yourself visible, and remain aware of surrounding traffic at all times.

A few extra seconds of attention can prevent a lifetime of consequences.

The Medway Fire Department wishes the patient a full and speedy recovery and thanks our public safety partners for their assistance on scene.
