I was raised in a small town like Medway in Wisconsin and moved to Newton Massachusetts when I was 16. I graduated from Boston College, where I met my best friend and partner in life, Susan. It was here where the seeds of service were planted as the school's motto is Men and Women for Others. In 2008, I was transferred to Boston for work and needed to move to a location a bit closer. We scoured th
e MetroWest area until we found this little gem of a town called Medway which reminded me of my hometown in Wisconsin. Ironically we found the perfect house on a road I used to ride my motorcycle on when I was a teenager. In the other places we lived, our service usually started in our church, and Medway was no different. We knew Medway was going to be our home for quite awhile so we expanded our service roles into other parts of the community.
• Finance Committee - Member, Vice Chair, and Chair of the Finance Committee. It was a great introduction to the town and how local government is run. In my time there I not only became educated, I was able to use my professional background to help ensure we were being transparent with our budgeting and spending.
• Youth Sports - I have two boys who were active in t-ball, soccer, swimming and football, and I spent time coaching on and off the field. Additionally, I teach Kenpo Karate to kids ages 5 - 12
• Scouting - Scouting was a big part of our family's life. Both of our sons became Eagle Scouts and I served as a den leader, treasurer, trip leader and merit badge counselor.
• Medway Village Church Food Pantry - Multiple roles since 2012; weekly duties include stocking shelves, picking up and sorting donations, and delivering food to homebound clients. I also took client orders every week during the pandemic while the food pantry operated outdoors, and when not teaching on Saturday mornings, I still volunteer when the pantry is open for clients.
• Medway Marches - Founding Board Member - Inclusion, Diversity, and Equity are important to me. Medway Marches' mission to help Medway be a more inclusive community for our BIPOC population fits well with the direction I think we need to go as a community.
• Energy & Sustainability Committee - Member since 2020 - I am a big fan of working towards green solutions and using our resources effectively
• IDEA Committee - Led a group of citizens to develop and propose the newly approved IDEA committee appointed by the Select Board in April 2021
My professional background has been focused on leading effective operational transformations primarily in the insurance industry. I help companies that need significant operations improvement to enable growth. I approach problem solving with customer centric data driven solutions that create additional capacity and help organizations focus on what they do best. I am motivated everyday by the problems I can solve and the people I can help. My family has lived in Medway for 13 years and we have actively participated in it its growth and development. I think the current Select Board has done a great job over the past 15 years, and I also think it is time to have a new voice and perspective in town government. I will work tirelessly to ensure that we continue to make Medway a great place to live for all of us. I would be honored to earn your vote on Tuesday, May 17th!
