👮‍♀️ Meet Shanna Bottoms, a valued member of our team who has been serving the Town for the past six months. From the moment she first visited for several Town functions, Shanna felt something special about the community. What stood out most was the genuine connection among employees and the way they support and look out for one another.

When the opportunity arose to join the team, Shanna eagerly embraced it. With a passion for working alongside law enforcement and a heart for public service, she was excited to become part of a department dedicated to supporting both officers and residents.

💙 “I have always enjoyed work that comes from a place of service, and I am grateful for the opportunity to support our officers and residents.”

When she’s not at work, Shanna enjoys a variety of hobbies that keep her creative and adventurous. She loves wildlife photography 📸, getting lost in a good book 📚, cross-stitching 🧵, and traveling with her husband ✈️.

Her favorite part of the job? Knowing that she can make a positive impact and provide support to officers and residents whenever they need it. 👮‍♂️❤️👮‍♀️

Some of Shanna’s favorites:
• Favorite color: Blue 💙
• Favorite food: Coffee ice cream ☕🍦

If she suddenly had a million dollars, Shanna already knows exactly what she would do: purchase plenty of land to start a rescue farm 🐴🐐🐓 and, of course, ensure there was an endless supply of ice cream! 🍦😊

And if she could be any superhero? Without hesitation: Wonder Woman. 🦸‍♀️

“Wonder Woman is quite possibly the best symbol of feminine strength, compassion, and hope. She has the ability to balance physical strength with empathy. She’s whimsical and always has a desire to uplift those around her. I see her as the superhero version of a hippie.” 😊

🙏 Thank you, Shanna Bottoms, for your dedication, compassion, and commitment to serving our officers, residents, and community every day. We are grateful to have you as part of the team!

Meet Fred - Melbourne Beach Police Department’s newest Wellness Dog, future comfort expert, and rising star in tail-wagging morale.🐾

Fred may be new to the badge, but he’s already making a big impression. With his gentle nature, curious personality, and instinct for brightening tough days, he’s quickly finding his place both at the department and out in the community.

Fred will be handled by SRO Rivera and primarily stationed with the amazing students and staff at Gemini Elementary School, where his days will be filled with hallway greetings, classroom visits, and plenty of well-earned ear scratches.

“I’m always learning like my new friends at Gemini, but I’ve already mastered sit, stay… and stealing hearts.”

Fred’s favorites:
• Color: Ocean blue- calm, cool, and beach-ready 🌊
• Treat: Slow-roasted peanut butter bacon bites (the kind worth sitting extra still for) 🥓🐶
• If he had a million dollars: “I’d build the ultimate nap lounge, stockpile gourmet treats, and make sure every kid has a dog to hug.” 💰🐾
• Superhero: Kirby- the original wellness dog hero, paving the path for the program one belly rub at a time 🐾, solving emotional “mysteries,” boosting moods, and always sniffing out the best snacks along the way.🐕

💙 Whether he’s offering quiet comfort or sparking smiles in the classroom, Fred is already helping make Melbourne Beach a safer, kinder, and happier place- one wag at a time.
