🚌 School is Back in Session Monday 🚌
🚸 Know When to Stop for School Buses!🚸

As students return to school, let's all do our part to keep them safe.
Under Florida Statute 316.172, drivers are required to stop for a school bus displaying its stop sign and flashing red lights:

🛑 You MUST stop:
• On all two-lane roads.
• On multi-lane roads that are not divided by a raised median, physical barrier, or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide.

⚠️ If you are traveling in the opposite direction on a roadway divided by a raised median, physical barrier, or an unpaved median at least 5 feet wide, you are not required to stop. However, you should still slow down, remain alert, and use caution.

Children can be unpredictable when entering or exiting a school bus. Stay focused, eliminate distractions, and help us keep our students safe as they travel to and from school.

🎒 FREE Back-to-School Backpacks & Supplies in Brevard County! ✏️📚

Back-to-school shopping can get expensive, so I gathered several upcoming free backpack and school-supply events around the Space Coast. Please share this post with any local families who may benefit! ❤️

Saturday, July 18

🎒 Project Backpack

🕙 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
📍 1900 S. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne

Andrew Pickett Law plans to distribute 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies. The event also includes bounce houses, balloon art, music and more. The first 750 people who preregister are guaranteed a backpack when picked up during the event. Additional backpacks will be distributed first come, first served.

Saturday, July 25

🚀 Back-to-School Blast-Off

🕘 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM
📍 Supply Zone for Teachers
1225 Clearlake Road, Cocoa

Free backpacks, school supplies, books, hygiene products and community resources for the first 2,000 eligible students.

Students must:

✅ Be enrolled in Brevard Public Schools
✅ Participate in the Free or Reduced Lunch Program
✅ Be present at the event

No registration or documentation is required. Supplies are first come, first served.

🎒 Jars of Glory Back-to-School Event

🕙 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
📍 1149 Masterson Street, Melbourne
