🚨 OVERSIZED LOAD TRANSPORT THROUGH IZARD COUNTY 🚨
The Izard County Judge, Eric Smith and the Office of Emergency Management would like to notify residents and motorists that an oversized transport carrying two (2) railcar bridges will be traveling through Izard County on 7/21/26.
Each bridge measures approximately 9 feet wide and 109 feet long, requiring traffic control and occasional delays along the transport route.
Planned Route:
•The transport will leave at approximately 6:30am from Bald K**b and travel north on U.S. Highway 67/167 through Batesville.
•It will then continue north on Highway 69 into Izard County.
•Beginning in Melbourne, the transport will travel through Brockwell and continue to Calico Rock.
•From Calico Rock, it will travel Highway 223 to Pineville, continue to Jordan, proceed down Jordan Road, then travel south on Highway 5 to its final destination on North Moccasin Creek Road.
Several public safety agencies will be working together to ensure the transport is completed safely, including:
• Izard County Sheriff's Office
• Calico Rock Fire Department
• Pineville Fire Department
• Jordan Fire Department
• Norfork Fire Department
• State Police Troop B
• Independence County OEM
• Batesville PD
• State Police Troop I
• Izard County Road
Motorists traveling along these routes should expect temporary traffic delays, reduced speeds, and intermittent stops while the oversized load passes. We ask everyone to use caution, follow the directions of law enforcement and emergency personnel, and avoid attempting to pass the es**rt vehicles or transport.
