Our Bearkatz Academy friends got to come over yesterday and visit their next year school! They enjoyed going through the cafeteria line, eating chicken patty, seeing the kindergarten classrooms and teachers, and of course…. Playing on the playground! They are ready to join us for the 26-27 school year!

Reminder: NO SCHOOL tomorrow, Friday, May 8th!

Next week is a busy last week! Tuesday at 6:00 pm is Kindergarten Graduation at the Melbourne High School Gym, Thursday is our awards day. Grades 1-2 at 8:15-8:45, Grades 3-4 at 9:15-9:45 and Grades 5-6 at 10:15-10:45 in the Elementary Gym. Friday we dismiss at 12:00!

Melbourne School District is excited to offer an enriching summer learning opportunity through AEGIS (Arkansas Enrichment for Gifted/Talented in Summer)!

STEAM & Beyond: Summer Exploration is an application-based summer program designed to provide engaging, hands-on learning experiences for students through creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and exploration.

📌 Important Information:
• Programs are limited to 15 students per section
• Applications are due by May 15 at 5:00 PM
• Families will be notified of admission decisions by May 25
• Breakfast and lunch will be provided daily
• Program hours are 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM

📅 Program Dates:
• June 8–12: Grades 1–3 and 7–9
• June 15–19: Grades 4–6 and 10–12

➡️ CORRECTION: Students should apply based on the grade level they will be entering in the 2027-2028 school year!

Applications can be found on the Google Site linked below. Simply select the appropriate grade level and complete the application form.

Student selection will be based on multiple objective and subjective measures to ensure a fair, equitable, and holistic review process. No single score or criterion will determine eligibility. While academic achievement may be considered as part of the process, students do not need to be identified as gifted/talented to participate.

We cannot wait to see our students explore, create, discover, and grow this summer! 💡✨
