๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ June is Pollinator Month at Hundred Acre Hollows! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฆ‹

Pollinators are the unsung heroes of our ecosystems, helping native plants reproduce and providing food and habitat for countless wildlife species. From bees and butterflies to moths, beetles, and hummingbirds, these important creatures keep nature thriving.

At Hundred Acre Hollows, weโ€™re proud to protect and restore native habitats that support pollinators year-round. You can help by planting native flowers, reducing pesticide use, and creating pollinator-friendly spaces in your own yard.

This month, take a closer look at the buzzing, fluttering life around you and celebrate the vital role pollinators play in our community!

๐Ÿ๐ŸŒผ Celebrate National Pollinator Month! ๐ŸŒผ๐Ÿฆ‹

June is National Pollinator Monthโ€”a time to recognize the incredible bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, hummingbirds, and other pollinators that help our ecosystems thrive.

Did you know that nearly 1 in 3 bites of food we eat depends on pollinators? By planting native flowers, reducing pesticide use, and creating pollinator-friendly habitats, we can help support these essential species.

At Hundred Acre Hollows, weโ€™re proud to grow and showcase native plants that provide food and shelter for pollinators throughout the year. Every native flower planted is a step toward a healthier environment for wildlife and people alike.

We appreciate being a part of the Brevard EEL program! This photo shows several gopher tortoise burrows (where the white sandy patches are). That huge oak tree is inside the southwest basin.

We are still celebrating our new property ๐Ÿฅณ

Sunday afternoon didn't have a pretty sunset, but the folks who came out enjoyed a walk. One group saw a deer! It stormed before we opened and after we closed the gate. What do you see in this cloud formation?

Life around a tree at HAH.
Trees function as small ecosystems. A single tree can provide habitat, food, and shelter for rodents, birds, insects, fungi, lichens, mosses, bacteria, and other microorganisms. Bark fissures, cavities, roots, leaves, and decaying wood create โ€œmicrohabitatsโ€ that help sustain biodiversity and overall forest health.
