🍔 Memorial Day weekend is officially here! As we gather with friends and family to honor those who served, Melfa Volunteer Fire & Rescue Co., Inc. wants to ensure your holiday stays safe and smoke-free.

Grilling is a centerpiece of the holiday, but it only takes a second for a celebration to turn into an emergency. Please remember the "3-Foot Rule": keep children and pets at least three feet away from the grill at all times.

To keep your home and family safe, follow these quick tips:
✅ Never leave your grill unattended while in use.
✅ Place your grill well away from the house, deck railings, and out from under eaves or overhanging branches.
✅ Keep a fire extinguisher or a bucket of sand nearby just in case.

We are proud to serve the Eastern Shore and want everyone to have a wonderful, safe weekend. If you need us, we are always ready to respond.

Happy Memorial Day from our family to yours!
