The East Cardinal Middle School Choirs recently earned outstanding results at the UIL Region 25 Concert and Sight-Reading Contest, with both the Varsity Treble and Varsity Tenor-Bass Choirs receiving Sweepstakes honors after earning the highest possible ratings in both concert and sight-reading. The Bella Voce Treble Choir also had a strong showing, earning an excellent rating in concert and superior ratings in sight reading. These accomplishments reflect the dedication and talent of the students and the leadership of Choir Director Marissa Martin. We are excited to watch these talented students as they continue to grow in their musical journey and represent Melissa ISD with pride in the years ahead. 🎤🎶

The Melissa Cardinals Baseball team’s game at Greenville, which was rained out last night, has been rescheduled for tonight at the Melissa Z-Plex. JV will play at 5 p.m. and Varsity at 7:30 p.m. Friday’s games will now be played in Greenville, and the Baseball Meet the Cardinals event will be rescheduled for a later date.

The Lady Cardinals Softball team will still hold its Meet the Cardinals Night this Friday, March 13, as planned. We hope to see you there!

Join us for Meet the Cardinals Night on Friday, March 13, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Melissa Z-Plex as we celebrate the Melissa High School Baseball and Softball teams. Enjoy games, concessions, spirit wear, and the chance for young fans to meet players and coaches, take photos, and collect autographs. Fans are encouraged to stay after to cheer on our MHS Varsity Baseball and Softball teams at their home games later that night. Softball takes on Denison at 6:45 p.m., and Baseball plays Greenville at 7:30 p.m. Students receive free admission with a paid parent or guardian. Purchase tickets at www.melissaisd.org/tickets. We hope to see the whole community come out for a fun night as we “Meet the Cardinals!” ⚾️🔥🥎

The East Cardinal Middle School Band had the honor of welcoming William Owens for a special clinic yesterday. Students worked directly with him on their Grade 3 piece, San Too Chee, gaining firsthand insight from an industry expert! An accomplished composer, conductor, and clinician, Mr. Owens has written more than 300 works for young ensembles, with his music performed nationwide and featured on required music lists across the country.
