Fall is right around the corner, which means it’s time for the Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company’s second Chicken Barbecue of the year! 🚒❤️

Can’t make it that day? You can still support us by purchasing tickets and passing them along to family, friends, neighbors, or someone who deserves a night off from cooking!

🚨 Community Update from the Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company 🚨

To our neighbors,

Our volunteers are currently responding to a large number of calls for flooded basements and water-related emergencies throughout our district. We know many of you are dealing with rising water, and we understand how overwhelming and stressful that can be.

Please know that every call is important to us. Our members are working as quickly as they safely can to reach every home in need. While response times may be longer than usual because of the number of emergencies, we want you to know that we haven’t forgotten about you. We are coming.

The safety of both our community and our firefighters will always be our top priority. We ask that you please remain calm, avoid taking unnecessary risks, and continue to monitor updates and instructions from local emergency management officials and weather authorities.

If your situation becomes life-threatening or you are in immediate danger, call 911 (tel:911) immediately.

The Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company has always been about neighbors helping neighbors, and today is no different. We appreciate your patience, your understanding, and the support you continue to show our volunteer members as they work tirelessly to help everyone affected by today’s flooding.

We will continue serving our community until every call has been answered. Please stay safe, look out for one another, and know that we are doing everything we can to get to you as quickly as possible.

⚠️ FLOOD WARNING – COLUMBIA COUNTY ⚠️
Heavy rainfall is causing rising water levels, flooded roadways, and hazardous travel conditions throughout Columbia County.
🚨 For your safety:
• Stay home unless travel is absolutely necessary.
• Never drive through flooded roadways. Just a few inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle away, and it's impossible to know if the road beneath has been washed out.
• Keep children and pets away from creeks, streams, and fast-moving water.
• Monitor local weather alerts and emergency notifications.
• If you encounter flooded roads, turn around and find an alternate route.
Our first responders are actively monitoring conditions and responding to emergencies. Help keep them available for those who truly need assistance by avoiding unnecessary travel.
Please use caution, check on your neighbors—especially the elderly—and stay informed as conditions may change rapidly.

💥Thursday: C.C.Auxiliary Ladies Dinner at Hudson Elks Lodge
💥Friday: Meeting, Firefighter of the Year Awards & Donning Competition
💥Saturday: Morning meeting and then Parade, line up at 1:30pm, step off at 3pm. Same route as the Chatham Fair Parade.
