💥Friday: Meeting, Firefighter of the Year Awards & Donning Competition
💥Saturday: Morning meeting and then Parade, line up at 1:30pm, step off at 3pm. Same route as the Chatham Fair Parade.

2026 Graduates, there is still time to apply for the Kim Harvey Memorial Scholarship. The applicant (a graduating senior) must have either:
An official affiliation with the Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company (son, daughter, grandchild or member) or Reside in the boundaries of the Mellenville Fire District.
If you are eligible and interested in applying, please email [email protected]. Include student name, student physical address, and graduating school. We encourage students to apply on their own behalf using their own non-school email address. We will respond to that email with a link to apply online for the scholarship. Every student who applies and is eligible will receive a scholarship.
The Kim Harvey Memorial Scholarship is sponsored by the Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company. Since its' inception, the Kim Harvey Memorial Scholarship Fund has awarded over $80,000 to graduating students in our Fire District. The scholarship is named after Past Chief Kim Harvey who started the scholarship program by hosting an annual golf tournament that continues to this day in his honor.

Last night, members of the Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company #1 headed to Spencertown Fire Company to participate in a Landing Zone Drill. 🚁

Training like this is an important part of emergency response, helping ensure our members are prepared to safely establish and operate a helicopter landing zone during critical incidents. From communication and scene safety to lighting and coordination with flight crews, every detail matters when seconds count.

We’re proud to continue training alongside neighboring departments and emergency personnel to better serve our community.

Because preparation doesn’t happen during the emergency — it happens long before the call comes in. 💪🚒

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who gave everything for the freedoms we live every day. Memorial Day is more than the start of summer — it is a solemn reminder that liberty has always come at a cost.

At Mellenville Volunteer Fire Company, we remember the fallen heroes of our armed forces whose courage, sacrifice, and devotion to this country will never be forgotten. From the known to the unknown, every name and every sacrifice matters.

May we all take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. Their legacy lives on in the freedoms we hold dear and in the hearts of a grateful country. 🇺🇸
