The Friends promote the Melrose Public
Library and develop additional funding for library activities, events, materials, and supplies that improve the facilities and services of the Melrose Public Library and that enrich the cultural opportunities available to the citizens of our community.

The Friends are accepting donations again! Please drop off your gently used books, DVDs, and CDs (no dictionaries, textbooks, or coloring books) in the large bin to the left of the main circulation desk when the Melrose Public Library is open. Thank you!

Stop by the book sale and get ready for summer reading (or get a last minute Mother’s Day gift)!

The Friends of the Melrose Public Library is hosting the spring book sale Saturday 5/9 from 10am-4pm in the lower level meeting room at the !

Grab some books and get some merch to show your love for our library- the book sale is one of the biggest fund raisers for the year! Funds raised help purchase audiobooks, fund programs, and purchase many of the items used at the library 📚

Shop the sale and support your library!

Our storage room is overflowing! Please DO NOT DONATE any books, CDs, DVDs, or other items to the Friends until after May 18, when we will gratefully accept your donations.

Upcoming special hours: For the safety of our patrons, the Melrose Public Library will be closed on Wednesday, 3/25 and Thursday, 3/26 for planned HVAC work to be performed. The Library will reopen at its normal time on Friday, 3/27 at 10:00am. Thank you for your understanding.
