Well Melvin, it’s been an honor.
When I accepted the role of trustee, then President, I had no idea my 2026 would look this way, but my family is moving and I naturally have to go with!
I’m proud of what we’ve gotten done together and I trust that the next President will keep the ball rolling.
What have we gotten done in my year as president? I’m so glad you asked:
✅ had an awesome Melvin Fun Day 2025
✅ new trash cans for the entire village
✅ began a complete review of village ordinances to get rid of the crap we don’t need. This will continue in October.
✅ implemented the villages first operations budget
✅ laid the ground work for a new website (TBA)
✅ began prepping for Melvin Fun Day 2026
And so much more behind the scenes!
There’s more left to do, but the village board is full of capable folks that know how to put Melvin first.
I’d like to personally thank Village Clerk Jeff Glascock for all of the work and energy he puts into his role. The Village of Melvin is incredibly lucky to have his expertise in the office. We couldn’t have done any of this without him!
I have a few days left until it’s official, but even after, I’ll be here virtually to assist the new guy/gal with transition.
