UPDATE: The water is back on.

🚨🚨🚨 ATTENTION RESIDENTS 🚨🚨🚨

A water main break on Wabash has caused a temporary loss of water service. Our DPW Director is currently on scene working to determine why there is no water pressure, as this has never occurred before with a break in this area.

We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate everyone’s patience as crews work to resolve the issue as quickly and safely as possible.

Water service is expected to be restored withinpMelvindale Historical Commission approximately one hour. TV

Thank you for your understanding. 🚨🚨🚨

🚨 URGENT – ATTENTION ALL RESIDENTS OF THE STATE OF MICHIGAN 🚨

A number of bipartisan bills have recently been brought to the attention of your locally elected officials. It is important that every resident understands what these bills would do, because each and every one of them interferes with your community’s local control over zoning and building requirements.

These sweeping state mandates would strip local communities of their ability to make decisions based on the unique needs of their residents.

📢 ACT NOW — CONTACT COMMITTEE MEMBERS TODAY

Members of the House Government Operations Committee must hear directly from you that these mandates prevent local leaders from listening to their communities and thoughtfully planning for the future.

House Government Operations Committee:

• Brian BeGole — [email protected] | 517-373-0853
• Mike Harris — [email protected] | 517-373-0828
• John Fitzgerald — [email protected] | 517-373-0835
• Curt VanderWall — [email protected] | 517-373-1747
• Mike McFall — [email protected] | 517-373-0140
• Committee Clerk Edward Sleeper — [email protected]

Your state legislators must also hear directly from YOU.

Do not allow legislators to claim they supported harmful and restrictive policies because residents stayed silent.

📌 Suggested Message:
Oppose House Bills 5529–5532 and 5581–5585.

As local government leaders and residents, we stand united in protecting local decision-making and rejecting efforts that preempt local governance in favor of sweeping state mandates.

Real housing solutions require collaboration, flexibility, and trust in the people and institutions closest to the work — not policies that erode local voices and weaken community planning.

✍️ JOIN US IN OPPOSITION

Add your signature to help protect local decision-making. Elected and appointed officials from communities across Michigan are encouraged to sign the letter of opposition.
