🎶 Music On The Square is this Saturday! ☀️🔥

It may be hot, but we’ve got live music, good food…and thankfully, a sunset coming not too long after the music starts. 😎

Join us at The Crossing Amphitheater in Depot Square for THE JAY JONES BAND!

💧 Bring plenty of water, dress for the heat, and maybe pack a fan. The sun should start calling it a day around 7:45 PM, so hopefully Mother Nature will turn the thermostat down a little after that.

🎵 Music On The Square is held every 3rd Saturday, May–October, and concerts are FREE to attend (weather permitting). Food will be available for purchase.

A big thank you to the Arlington Chamber of Commerce for coordinating and to this month’s sponsors, Harmony at Morning Grove and Page Robbins Adult Day Center, for helping make it possible!

Hot? Yes. Worth it? We think so.

We’ll see you at The Crossing, Arlington!

🌱 Please Keep the Grass in the Yard — Not the Street!

When you're wrapping up the mowing, please take an extra minute to blow grass clippings back into your yard instead of into the street.

Why does it matter?

💧 It protects our stormwater system. Clippings left in the street can wash into storm drains, where they can clog drainage systems and contribute to flooding.

🌿 It protects our waterways. As grass in the storm drains and waterways break down, it releases nutrients that can contribute to algae growth and lower oxygen levels in the water.

🏍️ It keeps our roads safer. Grass clippings can reduce traction on pavement, creating a hazard for bicycles and motorcycles in particular.

The easy fix? Point that blower toward the yard, not the road. Those clippings can actually return nutrients to your lawn and our streets and drains stay clear. A win - win!

A small change makes a difference. Thanks for helping keep Arlington clean and safe!

🚂 Railroad Crossing Update: Here’s What We Know

If you've been following the railroad maintenance saga, you know the schedule is a bit of a moving target. So, rather than give you dates that may change again, here's the latest info confirmed by our local railroad contact:

The following crossings will close briefly for maintenance, one at a time, in this order:

1️⃣ Chester Street – expected this week (Depot Square)
2️⃣ Greenlee Street
3️⃣ Airline Road
4️⃣ Jetway Drive

🚧 Each closure is expected to last approximately 1–2 days.

Most importantly: The railroad has told us they will reopen each crossing before closing the next one, so these crossings should NOT be closed at the same time.

They also plan to post signs before each closure. Since their work schedule remains fluid, keep an eye out for those signs.

Hopefully this gives everyone a little advance warning...even if we can't quite give you a timetable for the railroad. 😉

🚧 Paving Progress: Harrell’s Ridge Up Next for Surface Paving 🚧

Work is moving along in Harrell’s Ridge! As you can see in the photos, milling is complete and crews are finishing patching today.

What’s next? Weather permitting, surface paving will begin Monday and is expected to take about four days.

Once Harrell’s Ridge is complete, crews will move to White Oak Subdivision and begin the same process: milling → patching → paving.

Please continue to use caution around crews and equipment and expect some temporary delays while work is underway.

Thanks for your patience as we work on these neighborhood street improvements!

🎾🏓 More Courts. More Play. More Fun for Arlington!

Exciting news for tennis and pickleball players! At last Monday night's Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting, the Board approved a contract to begin the Arlington Tennis Center - Pickleball Expansion Project.

When complete, the expansion will include:
✅ 12 new pickleball courts
✅ 2 new tennis courts
✅ A central shade structure
✅ Expanded parking and a 2nd driveway
✅ A maintenance building with a hitting wall

Best of all, all of these new courts will be open to the public for recreational use, giving residents even more opportunities to get outside, stay active, and enjoy our parks.

The expansion will be built in the area originally planned for Phase 2 of the Tennis Center. While that plan originally called for additional tennis courts, the updated design adds dedicated pickleball courts to better meet the growing interest in the sport and the recreational needs of our community.

We'll share updates when work gets underway. Check out the site plan to get an idea of what's coming!
