We want to share that Katie Graffam will be leaving her role with Juvenile Court and CASA. Katie has accepted a position teaching high school geometry at her children’s school, St. George’s —so if anyone suddenly starts hearing about angles, proofs, or why triangles are actually “fun,” you’ll know who to blame. In all seriousness, this move will allow her to be more present with her family during these last few years before her kids graduate, and bring a little more alignment (and sanity!) to their family schedule—something we can all appreciate.
While we are truly excited for Katie, she will be greatly missed here. She has brought heart, humor, and a whole lot of dedication to CASA and to the families we serve. Katie shows up fully—for her colleagues, for the children, and for this work—and her impact on this team and our community is lasting. And while we’re gaining a geometry teacher, we’re losing our unofficial private detective—no one quite digs into the details (or finds the missing pieces) like Katie.
Katie has shared how much this work and this team has meant to her, and we know the feeling is mutual. We are so grateful for everything she has given during her time here. We are planning to post the position. It will likely be a full-time position.
Please join me in wishing Katie all the best in this next chapter. We have no doubt she’ll make a difference in the classroom—though something tells me CASA will always have a very passionate unofficial ambassador in her.
