A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us for our fireworks celebration! It was an honor to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence with our incredible community. May we always cherish the freedoms we enjoy, remember those who have sacrificed to protect them, and proudly celebrate the red, white, and blue. Happy 250th Independence Day! God bless America! 🇺🇸🎇

Today we honor the Utah firefighters who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. Their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting others will never be forgotten. 🇺🇸🚒

Today, our wildland fire family is mourning an unimaginable loss.

On Saturday, June 27, 2026, three brave wildland firefighters made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to the Knowles and Gore Fires along the Colorado–Utah border. Two additional firefighters were injured in the line of duty and remain in our thoughts as they recover.

There are no words that can truly ease the pain felt by their families, friends, and fellow firefighters. These courageous Firefighters answered the call without hesitation, placing themselves in harm’s way to protect lives, communities, and our nation’s natural resources.

Please keep the families of the fallen, the injured firefighters, and every member of the fire service in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time. Their courage, commitment, and selfless sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Rest easy, Firefighters . Your final watch is over. We will carry your legacy forward, and we will never forget your sacrifice.

Today we lost a great member of our fire department. We pray for the family of Sergio as they deal with the loss of a father and husband. Sergio was dedicated to serving and protecting the citizens of our community whether it was through firefighting or law enforcement. Rest easy brother, we have it from here.

Our hearts are heavy tonight.

Please join me in praying for the family of DPS Trooper Sergio Romero, who was killed in the line of duty today near Childress while serving and protecting his fellow Texans.

Trooper Romero leaves behind his wife, two young children, and countless friends and colleagues who are grieving this tremendous loss. As a member of DPS Recruit Class B-2025, he answered the call to serve and made the ultimate sacrifice in that service.

May God comfort his loved ones, his DPS family, and all who knew him.

🚒 Training Day for Our New Recruits 🚒

Our newest recruits spent time today mastering one of the fundamentals of the fire service—proper hose rolling techniques. While it may seem simple, attention to detail and proficiency with the basics help ensure equipment is ready when every second counts.
