Today teens participated in a hands-on Life Skills and Money Matters project focused on budgeting, meal planning, and independent living. Youth created detailed monthly budgets, explored ways to save money, planned weekly meals and grocery lists, and designed their ideal first apartment while balancing needs versus wants. Through these activities, members practiced financial responsibility, decision-making, and real-world planning skills that will help prepare them for future independence.

Members participated in a fun and engaging Healthy Habits activity where they were challenged to create and market their own brand of a product selected at random using a spinning wheel. Participants worked in teams to design unique product packaging, develop creative brand names, and identify healthy features that would appeal to consumers. Once their products were complete, each team created and presented a commercial pitch to persuade judges and peers to choose their product. The activity encouraged creativity, teamwork, communication, and critical thinking skills. To add excitement, the competition was structured as Boys vs. Girls, and after impressive presentations from both sides, the boys earned the victory with their innovative designs and convincing commercials.

We would like to thank our special guests for visiting our club and joining us for an exciting day of fun and teamwork! Our members, along with our guests from Milan , Tennessee, Polk Clark Alumni enjoyed a delicious pizza lunch while getting to know one another and building new friendships.
The highlight of the day was participating in a variety of team-building activities that encouraged communication, cooperation, and lots of laughter. Members and guests worked together during games such as Frozen T-Shirt, Clap, Bang, Sn**ch, and the Musical Human Hula Hoop Centipede. These activities challenged everyone to think creatively, work as a team, and support one another while having a great time.
Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. We enjoyed creating lasting memories together and look forward to future opportunities to connect, learn, and have fun! 🍕🎉🤝

Today in Chef Club, members took an active role in preparing and creating their own walking tacos. They practiced basic kitchen safety, followed directions, worked together to cook and season the ground beef, and assembled their meals independently. The activity encouraged teamwork, responsibility, and hands-on cooking skills while giving members the opportunity to enjoy a meal they helped make from start to finish. The members were highly engaged, eager to participate, and took pride in contributing throughout the cooking process.

Last night, was our annual Steak n Burger Dinner fundraiser, and it was a wonderful success. Our members had an amazing time meeting new people, building connections, and enjoying a variety of fun games throughout the evening. Guests were treated to delicious burgers from Sonic and sweet desserts from Nothing Bundt Cakes, which made the night even more special. The event created a warm, welcoming atmosphere and provided a memorable experience for everyone involved.

Arts & Crafts: In celebration of Earth Day, 🌎🌍🌏members created bright and colorful posters using shades of green, blue, and yellow to represent the planet. Their artwork featured drawings such as the Earth, trees, oceans, animals, and recycling symbols, all highlighting ways we can take care of our environment. STEM: Members worked collaboratively with their peers to create their own mini lava lamps using simple materials such as olive oil, water bottles, food coloring, and effervescent tablets. As they carefully layered the oil and water, they observed how the two liquids naturally separated due to differences in density. Once the food coloring was added, students watched as the droplets moved through the oil and mixed with the water below. The most exciting moment came when they dropped in the effervescent tablets, causing bubbling reactions that made the colored water rise and fall like a real lava lamp.

Throughout the activity, students engaged in meaningful discussions, made predictions, and shared observations about what they were seeing. This hands-on experiment introduced basic science concepts such as density, chemical reactions, and liquid interaction, while also encouraging teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. Overall, the activity was both fun and educational, giving students the opportunity to explore science in a creative and engaging way.
