Thank you to every department, organization, and personnel who responded to assist with this fire. We are currently still on scene to keep the fire contained.
(Although started by lighting, the majority of our area has seen little to no moisture.)

We would like to warn the citizens of Memphis that a statewide Public Warning System drill will be conducted today. The window for this test will be from 10:30am to 2:00pm. You will receive a message and in the message it will read TEST. This will be a TEST only.

The MVFD would like to thank the Hedley Volunteer Fire Department for hosting SCBA (Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus) training. Those who attended were able to work with members from other local departments. Training plays a crucial role in ensuring safety and knowledge on how to handle situations.

Please be weather aware for expected high winds to affect our area today. If traveling, be cautious of low visibility areas. Have plenty of water on hand and avoid activities that could potentially create a spark/fire. We are prepared for any calls for service.

We would like to remind the citizens of Memphis that the Community Center is a designated warm station. In case of power outage, the Community Center has a back up generator for those that need power for medical equipment and such. Check on your elderly family and neighbors to make sure they are warm and safe. Be safe this weekend and don’t be afraid to reach out to someone for help.
