Our Innovators and staff showed up in their best 901 gear today, proudly repping the city we call home! And with temperatures hitting 100°, MemPops came through with the perfect treat—refreshing popsicles for everyone! ☀️🧊

Being a Coach and Athletic Director sounds simple… until you actually have to manage the student-athletes. Practices. Games. Uniforms. Eligibility. Transportation. Schedules. Parents. And, of course, the athletes themselves.

Coach Cohran decided it was time to tell HIS side of the story-Netflix documentary style. Because managing Bobcat Athletics is MORE THAN A NOTION! But somehow, Coach keeps the teams moving, the games going, and our Innovators on track.

GTW REABRIRÁ MAÑANA — MARTES 25 DE AGOSTO 💜💛

Familia Bobcat, las Escuelas del Condado de Memphis-Shelby (MSCS) han anunciado que las escuelas reabrirán mañana. Por lo tanto, GTW también reabrirá mañana, martes 25 de agosto, y estamos listos para recibir nuevamente a nuestros Innovadores.

Reconocemos que algunas familias todavía pueden estar enfrentando cortes de electricidad y otros desafíos debido a las recientes tormentas. Para las familias directamente afectadas por problemas de electricidad, nuestra política de uniforme será flexible mañana. GTW WILL REOPEN TOMORROW — TUESDAY, AUGUST 25 💜💛

Bobcat Family, Memphis-Shelby County Schools has announced that schools will reopen tomorrow. Accordingly, GTW will also reopen tomorrow, Tuesday, August 25, and we look forward to welcoming our Innovators back!

We recognize that some families may still be dealing with power outages and other challenges caused by the recent storms. For families directly impacted by ongoing power issues, our uniform policy will be relaxed tomorrow. Please send your Innovator to school—we understand that circumstances may make it difficult to meet normal uniform expectations.

Jeans & Spirit Wear Day has been moved to Thursday, August 27.

Thank you for your patience and flexibility as our community continues to recover. We’re ready to get our Innovators back in the building and back to learning!

UPDATE: GTW WILL BE CLOSED TOMORROW — MONDAY, AUGUST 24 🚨

Bobcat Family, please note this important update to our earlier message.

Memphis-Shelby County Schools (MSCS) has announced that all schools and district offices will be closed tomorrow, Monday, August 24, due to the continued impact of the severe storms and widespread power outages.

Accordingly, Granville T. Woods Academy of Innovation will also be CLOSED tomorrow. We will follow any school closure or schedule changes set forth by MSCS.

We apologize for any confusion caused by our earlier communication. The safety of our Innovators, families, and staff remains our highest priority.

Please continue to stay safe, and we will keep families updated regarding any additional changes.
