Meet Blue Bell ( ), the dog version of an introvert. 💙

If your perfect weekend involves cozying up at home, taking a leisurely walk, and avoiding crowded social gatherings, Blue Bell just might be your soulmate.

Currently thriving in a foster home, Blue Bell has proven to be one of the easiest fosters around. She's fully potty trained, knows several commands, walks well on a leash, and has a calm, low-key personality. While she can coexist with other dogs, she's perfectly happy being the center of your world and prefers canine friends who respect her personal space.

Blue Bell loves walks, exploring the yard, and a good game of tug-of-war. When she's ready to recharge, you'll often find her tucked away in a quiet spot for some well-deserved alone time. She would do best in a calm home with older children and without cats.

📊 Field Report Friday: May 20–27

Every week, our team works around the clock to care for animals in need across Memphis and Shelby County. Here's a look at what happened this past week at Memphis Animal Services:

🚨 Our Animal Control team responded to 530 calls for service across the community, helping address concerns ranging from stray animals and injured pets to public safety and animal welfare issues.

🐾 340 animals entered the shelter
• 69 owner surrenders
• 247 stray animals brought in by Memphis Animal Control
• 24 stray animals brought in by Shelby County Animal Control

🐶 243 dogs
🐱 93 cats
🐔 2 chickens
entered our care this week.

❤️ Outcomes
• 78 adoptions (52 dogs, 26 cats)
• 21 dogs returned to their owners
• 44 animals transferred to rescue partners (43 dogs, 1 cat)
• 4 cats safely returned to their outdoor homes through our Return-to-Field program

While 147 animals found positive outcomes this week, intake continues to outpace the number of animals leaving our care. When space and resources are limited, difficult decisions sometimes have to be made. These numbers highlight the ongoing need for adopters, fosters, rescue partners, volunteers, and responsible pet ownership throughout our community.

Forever home Friday!

A little over a month ago, Steph ( ) left Memphis Animal Services for a new life, and just look at him now. ❤️

Steph isn't just thriving in his new home — he's already taken on new adventures, including visiting a new state and even putting his paws in the sand at the beach! 🏖️🐾

Stories like Steph's are exactly why we do what we do. Every adoption is a chance for a pet to experience love, comfort, and a life full of memories they may have never had otherwise.

Meet Lola Bunny ( )! We have a rescue interested in helping her, but we urgently need a temporary foster home for her until Tuesday.
Lola Bunny came to us as a stray, so we are still getting to know her, but so far she has been very sweet. 💕

He was last seen near S. Barksdale St. and Lamar Ave. on Tuesday, May 26th.

Foster Found!!

EMERGENCY BOTTLE BABY FOSTERS NEEDED 🚨🍼

After closing tonight, we still have 8 bottle baby puppies in need of foster placement. One of our supervisors is taking some, but we still urgently need help.

We are looking for: • 3 fosters for groups of 3, 3, and 2 puppies OR • 1 foster for 5 puppies and 1 foster for 3 puppies

MAS will provide ALL supplies, and even overnight help makes a huge difference right now. We can meet you at Memphis Animal Services with the puppies.

Bottle babies require feedings every few hours, but you do not need prior experience — we can walk you through everything.

If you can help save these babies tonight, please message us ASAP. Anything helps. ❤️

🍪 Meet Coco Cookie 🍪

Some dogs steal your heart with their energy. Coco Cookie steals it with her hugs.

This sweet girl loves people, loves toys, and loves being part of the action. After a good play session, her favorite place to be is right by your side, burying her head in your lap and soaking up all the affection she can get.

Coco has done great with men, women, children, and other dogs. She starts out a little shy and submissive with new canine friends, but once she gets comfortable, she's ready to play. She's also learning her leash manners and already knows "sit."

Her foster says Coco would do well in almost any home, but she'd especially love a family that has plenty of time for cuddles, playtime, and making memories together.

If you're looking for a gentle, loving companion who gives the best hugs around, Coco Cookie is waiting to meet you. ❤️🐾
