Today, Acorn FCCLA was honored to be part of the Pack Shacks Feed the Funnel event. Together, over 25,000 meals were packed to help support the BackPack programs in our local schools.

We are proud to serve alongside others in making a difference for students and families in our community. Today was a great reminder of what can happen when people come together for a purpose bigger than themselves. Thank you to the Mena Lioness Club for organizing this annual event in our county.❤️🤍

Today marked our final Acorn FCCLA chapter meeting of the school year and our 2026-2027 Chapter Officer induction ceremony.❤️

During the ceremony, Lauren Cruz officially passed the President’s gavel to incoming Chapter President, Makinzee May, as she prepares to lead Acorn FCCLA into the new school year. We are so proud of Lauren’s leadership, dedication, and service to our chapter this year, and we are excited to see the vision and leadership Makinzee and the new officer team will bring moving forward.

What’s been happening in Acorn FACS???

Our Intro to Education students have been diving into classroom technology and getting hands-on experience with our new 3D printer—bringing learning to life in a whole new way!

Our 8th grade Career Development classes have been working hard on their Pizza Box Career projects. A huge thank you to Simple Simons Pizza for providing the boxes—we appreciate your support! ❤️

In our foods classes, students have been focusing on simple, inexpensive meals they can make at home this summer or even in their dorm rooms this fall. 🌮🌯🥙 Real-life skills they’ll actually use!

The school year is quickly winding down, and we are so proud of all the hard work our students have put in this year.

Acorn FCCLA had an amazing Day 1 at the Arkansas FCCLA State Conference! ❤️

We are incredibly proud of Makinzee May, who did an outstanding job wrapping up her duties as this year’s Region V First Vice President. Your leadership and dedication have truly made a difference!

During our Region V breakout meeting, our STAR competitors were recognized for their hard work at Region STAR Events:
🥇 Lauren Cruz – Gold
🥈 Madelyn Auer, Ty Kesterson, Makinzee May, Jordan Lyle, and Andrea Wagner – Silver

All of these students competed at the state level today, and we can’t wait to find out their results tomorrow!

Before the meeting concluded, the 2026–2027 Region V Officers were inducted, and we are so excited to share that Makinzee May will continue her leadership journey as Vice President of Public Relations!

Our chapter was recognized for receiving 2nd place in this year’s Arkansas FCCLA Membership Madness campaign. Lauren Cruz accepted our certificate.

A big shoutout to Matilda Grant for serving as our voting delegate during the State Business Meeting.

We also had the opportunity to hear from a wonderful keynote speaker that made a lasting impression on our group.

To wrap up the day, we enjoyed dinner together and had a blast riding go-karts and bumper cars at the arcade—such a fun way to end a busy day!

We’re looking forward to seeing what Day 2 has in store! 🎉
