Acorn Fire Department – Community Safety Message

The Acorn Fire Department would like to remind everyone to stay safe during this extreme heat. Temperatures are climbing fast, and heat‑related emergencies can happen to anyone so please take a moment to protect yourself and your family.

A few quick safety tips for our community:

Stay hydrated throughout the day

Avoid outdoor work during the hottest hours

Check on elderly neighbors and anyone without air‑conditioning

Keep pets indoors and provide plenty of water

Never leave children or animals in a vehicle, even for a moment

Watch for signs of heat exhaustion: dizziness, headache, nausea, or confusion

July 9 at 7:59 pm , Acorn Fire Department responded to a car fire at a residence on Treasure Lane. Thanks to quick action from our firefighters, the fire was contained and no additional property was damaged.
We’re grateful for a community that stands together and supports its first responders.

July/04/26 we gather to celebrate a moment that stands tall in the story of our nation 250 years of independence, 250 years of courage, and 250 years of a people determined to shape their own destiny. This anniversary is more than a number. It is a reminder of the sacrifices made, the battles fought, and the unwavering belief that freedom is worth defending.

Two and a half centuries ago, ordinary men and women dared to imagine a country built not on fear, but on liberty, self‑governance, and the unshakeable truth that all people are created equal. Their vision lit a spark that has carried us through wars, hardship, innovation, and triumph. That spark still burns today in our communities, in our service members, in our first responders, and in every citizen who believes in the promise of America.

As we celebrate this milestone, we honor those who came before us. We honor the founders who risked everything. We honor the soldiers who stood their ground. We honor the families who built towns, farms, and cities from the ground up. And we honor every generation that kept the flame of freedom alive.

But anniversaries are not only about looking back. They are about looking forward about asking what we will contribute to the next 250 years. Our nation’s future depends on the choices we make today: to serve our communities, to stand united even when we disagree, to protect the freedoms handed down to us, and to ensure that every child grows up with the same opportunities that shaped this great nation.

Here in Arkansas and in every corner of America we see the strength of our people. We see neighbors helping neighbors. We see firefighters, police officers, EMTs, and volunteers stepping forward when others step back. We see families raising their children with pride in their country and hope for tomorrow. That is the spirit that built America, and it is the spirit that will carry us into the next century.

So today, as we celebrate 250 years of independence, let us renew our commitment to the ideals that define us. Let us honor the past, embrace the present, and boldly shape the future. Let us stand together not as strangers, not as divided voices, but as Americans.
