We are very excited to announce that we have certified the first biblical counselor through our training center! This is a big step, but hopefully this is the first of many biblical counselors that are equipped through this ministry.

If you are interested in being trained as a biblical counselor Mena Biblical Counseling is a certified training center with the International Association of Biblical Counselors and the Fellowship of Biblical Counselors. The program is very low cost and we can even do it via distance education in some instances. Do your own pre-counseling first by admitting you could be at fault, silencing the Inner Lawyer, committing to the goal of pleasing Christ above all else, and resisting that Inner Pharisee.

The goal of biblical counseling is not just to fix problems, or to be sober, or to have better relationships, or even just to have a better life. The goal of biblical counseling is to help the counselee live a life that honors and pleases God. In doing so many of those other objectives will be accomplished but they are not the goal.

One counselee said it well when he said:

"I have been sober, and sobriety is not enough".

The IABC Conference has been great so far. There have been great speakers and workshops. Tonight I(Bro. Russell) had the great privilege of presenting a workshop on Counseling and Soul Care for Families Dealing with Autism. It was a new(and nerve wracking) experience and I am thankful for those who came and participated. I hope more biblical counselors will seek to be equipped to minister well to these families. The need is great.
