STATE TRACK & FIELD UPDATE

“Macie finished her amazing track career by finishing in 21st out of 24 overall runners that made it to state this year. In one of the more loaded fields in recent history, it would have taken 5:12 to make it on the podium. Macie ran 5:23 on her final race of her high school career after a 50 minute rain delay which she warmed up to race, had to go sit in the gym during a lightning storm, and then try to get warmed up again. In a race that saw lots of pushing, shoving, and hand checking with 24 girls on the track running near the same pace for the first 800 meters, the race finished before the meet got put on another 1 hour lighting delay.
Macie finished her running career as the school record holder in the 1600 with 5:17.20, #2 all time in the 3200 with 11:44.62, #7 all time 800 in 2:28.98(2:22 800 split at sections in 4x800 in 2025), part of UNC record 4x800 team in 9:49.88(Anjalie Aho, Anaya Aho, Eva Lehto, and Macie), and #2 all time 5k in 18:51.4.

STATE TRACK & FIELD UPDATE:

“Nolan McGowan finished his HS track career yesterday taking 13th in the 100M in 11.33 into a 2.5 m/s head wind and and 11th in the 200M with a new PR of 22.73. He finished his career 2nd overall in UNC history in both the 100M(10.91 seconds) and the 200M(22.73 seconds). His 100M time was 0.12 off Charlie Hrdlicka’s record 100M time of 10.79 in 2007 and 0.11 off Charlie’s 200M record time of 22.62 set in the same year. Nolan had a great season this year and it was highlighted by making it to state in both the 100M and 200M to cap it off. Congratulations Nolan!!!”

STATE BOUND!🎉

The STATE TRACK & FIELD Meet begins tomorrow, June 4th, and runs through June 6th at St. Michael-Albertville High School.
Nolan McGowan will compete in the Class A 100m & 200m, while Macie Josephson will compete in the 1600m.
CONGRATULATIONS Nolan & Macie on an outstanding season and earning your spot at STATE! Best of luck to you both!
