Good stuff going on at MHS!

This is from Dr. Forsythe, who visited our campus to help mentor Mrs. Smith. We appreciate him coming out and sharing resources! Can’t wait to see what Mrs. Smith gets accomplished!

(Ag Teachers Association of Texas Mentor Steve Forsythe visited MHS Sept. 1)

This is the the tenth year of the “Pioneer” ATAT Mentor program that places a first year early career Ag Teacher with a retired Ag Educator to support our first time Ag Teachers in becoming even more successful!

Woke up very early and traveled past Volkman Draw and the San Saba River to arrive at Menard High school ( Home of the Fighting Yellowjackets) first period.

First year Ag Teacher/ FFA Advisor Mrs. Macie Smith has hit the “ground running” at Menard High School and is taking a big load of Greenhands to the Area 2 Greenhand Leadership Event this Friday!

I had a very good meeting with Mr. Hand, MHS Principal, who is very supportive of CTE- AgriScience Education!

Mrs. Smith is prepared and ready to Teach daily- from Horticulture, to Several sections of Ag Mechanics with SAFE lab applications. Throw in a PAFNRC class, and a Power Technology class and it’s busy in the Ag Facility/ Shop daily!!

Mrs. Smith and I worked on several agenda items/areas identified in her Mentee application for additional focus, -( ranging from LDE’s to IBC’s throughout the day) We also had a working Lunch at Los Abuelos!😀👌🦉

Mrs. Smith’s students were great to work with on this Visit 1 and ready to join her to achieve even greater things in the way of FFA leadership growth and participation.

We closed the day- long visit with some “homework assignments” in regards to more Program Evaluation areas, including facilities and Chapter Roster/ FFA Management.

Great Mentor Visit 1 in Menard, Texas Mrs. Smith with some great kiddo’s, supportive community, and Administrative support!!

Our XC runners competed in Brownwood today! All athletes PR'd for the season with Danni Ruiz running an 11.45, and Taytum Chambless with a time of 13.48! Congrats, and way to represent Menard!
