People of Progression

People of Progression Founded in 2020 to support, celebrate, and uplift Black lives in NE Wisconsin 24/7/365.

New funding is now available through the Community Response Fund. If the tornado has caused financial challenges for your household, LEAVEN and People of Progression can help you explore recovery support.

Assistance may help with housing, temporary lodging, transportation, childcare, utilities, and other essentials. Every household has been affected differently, so assistance is not one-size-fits-all. These organizations will meet with you to learn more about your situation and next steps.

People of Progression was LIVE this morning sharing how we are supporting families impacted by the recent disaster and working alongside trusted community partners to make sure Black and Brown communities who may have complex barriers and challenges, are not left behind in recovery.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to the Community Response Fund or has stepped in other ways to offer immediate supports to our neighbors in Menasha. 🖤🤎

Money will be distributed by LEAVEN and People of Progression.

Join us for Third Thursday✨

Network with intention.

A portion of beverage sales will support scholarships for Black youth-so every connection makes an impact. This month we will also be having another fundraising opportunity to help our youth go on a college tour.

🖤💚💛❤️ Culture in the Valley returns.

Some spaces entertain us.

Some spaces restore us.

Culture in the Valley was created to do both.

Join People of Progression for our 3rd Annual Culture in the Valley—a free community celebration where culture, creativity, wellness, and connection come together.

Through live music, DJs, spoken word, dance, visual art, local vendors, food, youth activities, and healing experiences, we celebrate the richness of Black culture and the many communities of the African diaspora while welcoming neighbors from every background.

Culture has always been more than entertainment.

For generations, rhythm, movement, storytelling, art, and music have helped us celebrate joy, carry grief, strengthen identity, and stay connected to one another. When we create spaces where people feel seen, valued, and like they belong, we strengthen one of the greatest protective factors for mental health: connection.

That is why Culture in the Valley centers community wellness and su***de prevention.

We believe prevention begins long before a crisis. It begins with checking on one another. Sharing a meal. Dancing together. Supporting local artists. Laughing with neighbors. Creating spaces where young people know they belong, families build relationships, and community members are reminded they never have to carry life's burdens alone.

Healing is collective.
Culture is powerful.
Community saves lives.
