We’re excited to share some great news for the Fox Cities area!

During a news conference today, East Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission announced we’ve been awarded a $842,876 Safe Streets and Roads for All federal grant to support two local efforts to advance safety study projects focused on reducing serious injuries and fatalities.

🚦 County Highway KK Corridor Study – This regionally significant, fast-growing 4.5 mile corridor connects the City of Appleton, Village of Harrison, Town of Buchanan, City of Kaukauna, and is the boundary between Calumet and Outagamie counties. The study will include review and analysis of current and future corridor data, resulting in an implementation plan based on specific safety needs.

🚶‍♀️🚴🧑‍🦽 City of Appleton Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan – A comprehensive planning study of existing pedestrian and bicycle infrastructure will be conducted to identify gaps in the network and opportunities for connectivity and safety improvements.

These projects total just over $1 million, with key project partners contributing a combined match. Once the federal grant agreement is finalized later this year, work can begin.
