🚨DANGEROUS COLD TONIGHT – TAKE THIS SERIOUSLY🚨

Mississippi will experience extremely cold wind chills overnight, with some areas dropping to or below zero. While actual air temperatures will be around 10 degrees warmer, it’s important to understand this:

👉 Wind chill is what your body actually feels.
The strong wind rapidly pulls heat away from your skin, making it feel much colder and increasing the risk of injury.

⚠️ In parts of the state, these could be among the coldest wind chills Mississippi has ever experienced. This is not just “cold weather” — this is dangerous cold.

❄️ Why this matters:
• Frostbite can occur on exposed skin in as little as 30 minutes (sometimes faster).
• Hypothermia is possible even with temperatures above freezing when wind chills are this low.
• Power outages or heating issues could quickly become life-threatening.

🧥 Cold Safety Reminders:
• Limit time outdoors tonight and early morning.
• Dress in layers, including hats, gloves, and face covering.
• Bring pets indoors — this cold can be deadly for animals.
• Check on elderly neighbors, children, and those without reliable heat.
• Protect pipes and leave a small drip if needed.

This is a serious cold event for Mississippi. Please don’t underestimate it. Take precautions now and stay weather-aware.
