🚒 Training Together, Growing Stronger 👨‍🚒

Thursday September 18, members of Mendenhall Fire Department joined forces with our neighbors at Magee Fire Department for a joint training session at Copiah-Lincoln Community College.

Our crews worked side by side learning and practicing the essentials of pump operations, hydrant hook-ups, and drafting water from one truck to another. These are the kinds of skills that keep us sharp, efficient, and ready when the call comes in.

A big thank you to Magee Fire Department for hosting us, and to Michael Allan for leading the instruction and sharing his expertise.

Strong training builds strong firefighters—and strong partnerships make stronger communities.

Today is September 11th. A day that will forever remind us of the cost of courage.

On that morning in 2001, when the world watched in horror, firefighters, law enforcement officers, paramedics, and countless other first responders did what they always do—they ran toward the danger. 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, 8 EMTs and paramedics, and thousands of everyday people never came home. They climbed those towers, carried strangers down smoke-filled stairwells, and gave their last breath so others could live.

That’s what service looks like. That’s what sacrifice feels like. It’s not glamorous. It’s not for recognition. It’s love—for your neighbor, for your community, for your brothers and sisters on the line with you.

Here at Mendenhall Volunteer Fire Department, we remember them. We honor them. And we try, in our own small way, to carry their torch. But here’s the truth: we can’t do it alone. This community needs protectors. It needs people who will step up when the tones drop. We need men and women willing to sacrifice their time, their sweat, and maybe even their lives—because that’s what it takes.

If you’ve ever felt the pull in your gut that you were meant for something more, this is your moment. Join us. Be part of a brotherhood and sisterhood that will never let you stand alone. Answer the call.

Today, we remember the fallen. Tomorrow, you can honor them—by standing up and saying, I’m ready.

Never Forget. Always Remember. Forever Serve.

🚨🔥 From All of Us at Mendenhall Fire Department 🔥🚨

We just want to take a moment to say THANK YOU to each and every one of you who have supported our page since the beginning.

Every like, share, comment, and follow means more than you know. It helps us spread the word about important updates, upcoming events, training, and fundraisers that keep our department growing stronger every day.

Your support doesn’t go unnoticed—we see you, and we appreciate you! Whether it’s helping us reach more people in our community or simply showing encouragement, YOU make a difference.

I know we share a lot about our fundraisers, training, and weather updates as we go along our journey each day, but please continue to support us as this is how we get the news out and with your support we are able to reach more people who might want to see what we're doing or support us with our goals.

Together, we’re building something bigger than just a page—we’re building a stronger, safer community.

Thank you for being part of the Mendenhall Fire Department family!
